Manager Communication : Easygoing Saturday morning, with sales steadily rising throughout the day. Patio got a decent hit at the start of the third round, and Trees began to develop a crowd around the same time, too. JH Business just kept ramping up all day, with good mid-day numbers for family movies spring-boarding right into back to back to back sold out Everything Everywhere showings in Th 1&2. Ground floor got very busy today too, with patio business steady through the dinner round and a lot of well sold shows down there too. The movies are all still solidly popular, so even with Everything Everywhere dominating the smaller theaters are seeing really good numbers.  Had some tight showtimes today, specifically a sold out Th4 coinciding with a nearly sold Theater 2. Drink running got a bit backed up to the third floor and I had some MOD and server support and we got right out of the woods. Other than that, great night with good Trees business as well. JM Customer Commen...

Manager Communication : Good night tonight, busy, smooth service.  FOH Staff Observations: Drink running was really solid tonight. Having more support in those rushes makes a huge difference.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes: I would like to really have bartenders dial in their theater cocktail pours. When things get busy i see bartenders not being as consistent. Drinks are going out with not enough ice, too much lime juice, old fashioneds are being over poured, etc. We need to really make them aware that consistency is more important than speed, and what seems like really minor mispours can really effect the balance of a cocktail. Let's slow them down before a big rush and have them focus on exact pours.  Prep List: We look pretty good going in to the weekend. Everything was batched tonight.

Manager Communication: Pretty busy night. Everything still killing, Shouting had a great trees crowd and vibe before the show. After the show started Trees got a nice organic crowd though out the rest of the night. Kept the bar open till 12:30 and got a nice crowd after the show.  Pretty busy all around.  Customer Comments: helped someone with Williamsburg tickets.  BAR Staff Observations: Ian and Chelsea opened. Tevon and Gabrielle closed. Ian batched and stocked up before heading out. Chelsea stayed til about 10:30ish when the bar was manageable.  FOH Staff Observations:  Great work all around, big shouts to Juliana who held down a hectic 4/6 with little support because people were scrambling to flip th1 when we thought we might move Shouting there. I help run some drinks up and to seats.  Special Events?  The general blog and/or projection will have more info but the movie froze several times and delayed the movie.  Prep List: Ian made paradiso...

Manager Communication : Mellow start, but then a fairly brisk second and third round on all floors.  High Tide brought in a nice crowd, and Everything Everywhere and The Northman kept theaters active throughout the day.  Trees had a great crowd throughout the second and third rounds, winding down around eleven.   BAR Staff Observations : Chelsea, Ryan, and Ian all did great work today, with a lot of flexibility in anticipating stocking needs and theater seatings.   FOH Staff Observations : There was a bit of a back up at Trees service bar at the top of the third round Th2 Everything Everywhere, due to Ash, who was training, being the only server sent down to collect drink trays, along with myself.  By 9:30, the pass was full of completed tickets and Ash was, understandably, overwhelmed and communicated that to me directly.   We paused Th2 service at Trees, and I reached out to Floor MODs.  Both Sarah and Jeannette went up to the server s...

Manager Communication : Mellow Tuesday, punctuated by well-sold screenings in Th1 and Th2.  Everything Everywhere continues to buoy the weeknight dinner round, with The Northman pulling in crowds in most of its screenings today, and Blade Runner was the cherry on top.  The specialty cocktails for Blade Runner were also really popular. BAR Staff Observations : Eliel and Ryan held it down in Lobby today.  Eliel got some batching done and was able to get out of here right as the third round began.  Ryan was great at guiding guests for Blade Runner to the appropriate theater, and navigated a well-sold Northman screening at the top of the third round. Ashley and Dylan absolutely crushed Trees service today, handling the addition of the three Blade Runner cocktail specials no problem.  Ashley is really comfortable expo'ing service bar, and Dylan is great about getting out on the floor and bussing tables whenever there is a lull in service. Once the initial Blade Runne...

Manager Communication : Slow first round, with some theaters filling up during the dinner round.  The Volo group took advantage of the nicer weather and hung out on the Patio for a while after ordering at Trees.   BAR Staff Observations : Eliel was able to get into the ice fridge at Trees and give its interior a cleaning, melting away the frost build up and refreshing the trays and containers. He was able to get out of here after the second round's Everything Everywhere initial service push was through, after batching and covering each bar so Jenna and Ashley could do a restock.   Ashley held down Lobby bar all night, with a steady stream of walk-in ticketing once the second round began, needing minimal assistance throughout the evening.  Jenna, similarly, did a great job at Trees this evening, and is becoming much more proactive about prioritizing tasks and reaching out for help when needed. 86ed / counts on items : 86'd Tecate, Michelada, and Stillwater S...

Manager Communication : Pretty good morning and afternoon with close to sold out shows.  Trees had a good in and out afternoon crowd.  EL Service moved at a pretty quick clip tonight, with all floors handling well-sold, if not sold out, screenings throughout the evening.  Not as bustling of a Patio crowd as the last few warmer days, but Trees had a great crowd once the third round of films kicked off.  JH Customer Comments : The first Northman I'm theater two lost visuals but had sound.  We asked projection to pause it and restart it with the picture.  Took a few minutes because projection was running 35mm in th4 and was in the middle of switching reels.  The crowd was antsy but settled after the movie restarted.  EL BAR Staff Observations : Natasha opened Trees and Jenna Lobby.  Ian came in as Lobby mid and batched a bunch.  Ryan was a much needed Trees mid.  Jenna juiced fresh lime and lemon and rolled silverware for both bars....

Manager Communication : Pretty busy Saturday morning, with plenty of high-sold screenings on all floors each round. Trees was pretty quiet, with a few couples stopping in either right before or after a movie, but picked up around five o’ clock. Patio expansion was appreciated, and we definitely had more guests out there than previous weekends. JH Lots of family movies stacked up for the mid round today, so things were busy but highly manageable during those NA heavy and low drinking rushes. Then the dinner round and late rounds rolled in and the bars filled, the rushes got extremely heavy and remained consistently busy throughout runtimes. Everything Everywhere and Massive Talent both seem to bring out the party in our guests, as drink rushes are certainly more pronounced at the beginning but they continue at a very steady clip throughout the movie. These stacked up, making for a nearly two hour straight heavy rush to service bar from 7-9. Major credit to the bar team again tonight; no...

Manager Communication: Busy night tonight. Service went well. We added a few more tables to the patio. It was very busy out there tonight. We will have to make sure we are supporting the lobby a little more now if they are busy on the patio. BAR Staff Observations: We had Jo and Jenna opening today. First Friday with two pretty new bartenders opening, and it went pretty well. Jenna seems to be more comfortable working a busy bar rush in Trees. Jo was great downstairs. She did have to be out of here at 9:30 sharp, and didn't let me know until 9:15. I asked her to give us a heads up in advance if she had time constraints around a shift. Her out time was 9:30, which is fair enough for her to expect to be out then, but some communication would have been nice. I had to keep Jenna an hour past her out time, and otherwise probably would have kept them both 30 minutes instead.  86ed / counts on items: We 86ed Saratoga sparkling towards the end of the night. Should be back in tomorrow mo...

Manager Communication: Good evening tonight. Busy theaters, a nice crowd at Trees till about 10. Pretty quiet after that Customer Comments:  Gave a guest a refund because they accidentally purchased an extra ticket cash at the counter.  BAR Staff Observations: Chelsea and Ian opened Trees and Lobby. Gabrielle and Tevon closed. Chelsea stayed until after the Cat People and Ian left after some batching.  Special Events? Cat People had a great crowd and a pretty good Trees crowd.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes:  I’ve noticed some store n pours in the back that were not clean. I think we’re relying too much on the dishwasher and not enough on the adjoining hose.  86ed / counts on items: Saratoga Sparkling on a count. Michelada close.  Prep List:  Ian made Strawberry Mansion (keg charged) Strawberry Lemonade, Cinema Paradiso (needs lime and blood orange) Jesse made q bunch of stuff. I made a big simple syrup.   We’ll need michelada mix, arbol tequila...

Manager Communication : Busy for a Monday, with well-sold theater pops in all three rounds. Plenty of kids out for Sonic and another two sold out Everything Everywhere screenings.  Smaller Volo crowd than the last two weeks due to the chilly weather, but still got a decent Trees boost from those that made it out.  BAR Staff Observations : A bit of a hectic day behind the bar, but everyone worked incredibly hard.  Unfortunately, Eliel began to experience intense back pain around seven. He was able to grab some anti-inflammatory medication from the pharmacy, but got no relief and his pain quickly escalated. Ultimately, we made the decision that he should head home and rest, and I was able to hop behind the bar and get Jenna through the remainder of the Everything Everywhere rush.  While Jenna has been excellent at working busy weekend shifts with others and closing both bars, she definitely was a little lost once Eliel had to be cut. There were several items/cocktails ...

Manager Communication :  Pretty nice afternoon with good sales for Everything and Hong Kong series plus some good sales all around.  Hong Kong & everything had good Trees crowds EL Great dinner round, with Everything Everywhere doing really well upstairs, with plenty of other theaters having a great third round, too. A lot of people stopping by Trees after the third round let out, with the crowd naturally tapering off by eleven. JH Customer Comments :  Helped some guests with hearing devices and tickets. EL BAR Staff Observations :  Jenna and Natasha opened up lobby and Trees. Ian and Ryan came as strong miss. Great jobs all around EL Really great work at both bars tonight. Tevon was able to help Ryan through an early dinner push until Ashley got in, and then Tevon was able to head back down to Lobby.  Both Ian and Ryan restocked both bars and did some batching before heading out. Tevon and Ashley handled both of their bars solo for the rest of their evening...

Manager Communication : Steady morning and afternoon, led by Everything Everywhere all day high ticket sales. Trees began to develop a bar crowd around five, which kept growing as the evening went on. JH Great night service tonight, with strong rushes for dinner round Th1 & 2 and also a great late round Everything Everywhere. Late round movies and dinner round letting out gave us a few back to back great Trees pushes, which the team handled really well. Once the late round was in, I was able to cut to two bartenders and have enough coverage to batch with healthy stocks done behind both bars. Everyone stepped it up and did really well, and drink service to theaters was also very smooth. JM BAR Staff Observations : Chelsea and Natasha opened up both bars with no issues this morning. Natasha really held it down in Lobby with no mid today (explained below in  Sick Leave/Call Outs ), and was able to get out of here shortly after Jenna arrived to close.   Chelsea was an abs...

Jesse/Jenn 04.14

Manager Communication : Nice night, small crowd at Trees during the dinner round, and a full patio crowd, too.  BAR Staff Observations : Chelsea and Ian did great opens, and I was able to get Ian out after he had done some batching, and Chelsea after Trees was almost through it’s third round seating.  Natasha was great down in Lobby, needing very little ticketing assistance this evening, and got a head start on emptying the ice machine for tomorrow. Tevon, similarly, held it down at Trees, closing around multiple wells full of melting ice.  86ed / counts on items : 86’d Tecate. Micheladas are being made with Narraganset for the time being.  Prep List : Ian made Earl Grey Pink Peppercorn Syrup, Fire Walk With Me, and a keg of Two Lane Blacktop.  Lost & Found? : Natasha turned in two phones at the end of the night, one had been left outside and one left at Lobby Bar, as well as a card. I left them with Jason to see if he could reach out to the guests.

Jesse/ Eliel 10/13

Manager Communication:  Good day. We had a really sold Everything during the dinner round which got our blood pumping. A few other theaters had good tickets coming in. Trees had a nice crowd before Everything sat. Afterwards it wasn't bad, but not as busy.  Customer Comments:  Helped a caller find their gift card number with Gil's help.  BAR Staff Observations: Ryan opened Trees. Ian came to close trees and Chelsea did the all day Lobby shift. Everyone did a pretty good job. Chelsea's closes are impressively quick and thorough. 86ed / counts on items: Tecate and michelada Prep List: I made Strawberry Gin (needs strained tomorrow) hazelnut syrup and hibiscus syrup.  Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Southern delivery, Neversink Gin, Allspice Dram, Interboro, and Empire came.

Jesse / Eliel 4/12

Manager Communication: Pretty good day. Not too busy but not dead. Decent crowds at Trees at times but not consistently.  Customer Comments: Gave a guest a credit, for an unused ticket. Helped some first time guests find their way and showed them around the theater.  BAR Staff Observations: Jo and Ashley opened Trees and Lobby. When Ryan came in and they got through a theater rush, Jo covered lobby while Ashley batched a few cocktails. Everyone did a great job today.  FOH Staff Observations: Sarah was great today and it was great to congratulate her.  Special Events? Snake Eyes had a nice little group of folks that came to Trees after the film.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Prep List: Ashley made Firewalk, Mr Fusion, Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, Strawberry Mansion and simple syrup.  Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Got a few kegs delivered and the US food order. a lot of Green City IPA came in today.

Jenn 04.11

Manager Communication : Steady Monday evening after a relatively quiet first round. Everything Everywhere is holding strong and did great during the second round, and the They Live screening was a big hit. Those screenings, coupled with the Volo teams, kept Trees busy from the beginning of the second round until last call.  BAR Staff Observations : Both Eliel and Ashley were prepped and ready for service by the time I came in, and service went smoothly all night.  Eliel stuck around until They Live was seated, and was able to get out of here after restocking Jenna. Ashley held down Lobby no problem all night, and is getting much more comfortable navigating Filmbot ticketing with her passcode.  Jenna handled service bar and guests well during the last round once Eliel had left, and deftly navigated a post They Live pop at Trees around 11.  Special Events ? Volo Softball teams came through again, and brought a nice little bump to Trees from about 6-8. The games are pla...

Manager Communication :  Pretty great day at Nitehawk. Busy theaters right away, and a maintained steadiness. Trees got some people in the later afternoon. Great vibes all around. EL Busy dinner round, and several theaters with strong showings in the final round. Really effective teamwork again tonight, which led to a relatively easygoing Sunday night. Trees had a decent bar crowd through the initial seating of the last round of movies. JH Customer Comments :  A guest had a pass and wanted to see The Batman. I was just about to say they couldn't redeem a pass, when I saw the pass had my name on it, the word Tenet and the date of that fiasco, I gave the guest the pass.  One single pass for Batman.  Helped some guests with strollers and booster seats as well. Many joyous children all around. EL BAR Staff Observations :  Tevon and Natasha opened Trees and Lobby. Ian was a 12:30 mid. I moved him around where needed, got him to batch and after that was done arou...

Manager Communication : A very busy, very welcome,  Saturday morning. Th1/2 was busy every round, with Sonic and Everything Everywhere selling really well all showtimes. Not too much of a bar crowd during the day but Trees definitely picked up around six o’ clock. JH An absolutely crushing but very successful night at Trees and in the theaters. Felt non-stop, with a few pauses, from 4 pm through the end of the night. Every Th1 & 2 show through the late round was heftily sold or sold out, and the bar also got great crowds before and after. Was able to swing Jenna up for the last Sonic of the day and she helped cover both bars to stock and refresh once done. Then cruised through the Batman in Th2 with Jenna and cut her afterwards. Ian and Ryan crushed it through the end of the night; we had a long turnaround on a seating of Everything so the bar got packed and then sat and had a speedy drink service. Great support from FOH for that, with only having to pause drink service once or...

Jesse / Eliel 4/7

Manager Communication: Pretty good evening. The wedding event up at Tree House Mezzanine ™️had a great crowd and energy, and the rest of Trees slowly became a steady happening lounge. Good motion in the theaters too. The kids were out for their favorite hedgehog.  Customer Comments:  Had customers with yesterday tickets and explained that we couldn't do anything with past tickets. They purchased new tickets.  BAR Staff Observations: Ashley and Chelsea opened Lobby and Trees. Gabrielle closed lobby and Ian closed Trees. Ashley batched some infusions and Chelsea stayed till the Spoonz rush was over. Great team. The leads have been taking charge!  Gabrielle didn't properly clock in, so she clocked in and out about midnight when she left.  Special Events? The wedding party went pretty smoothly. Jesse and Chenelle were on top of it.  Spoonz's numbers have been going back up.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes: 86ed / counts on items:  Prep List: Ashley ...

Eliel 4/5

Manager Communication:  Pretty busy day up in Trees Lounge.  I felt a couple of theater pops while up there. The crowd for Perfect was pretty good. They got here right before Trivia was getting packed, and when I announced the theater was open, they all went in and gave hungry trivia guests a shot at a table.  Customer Comments: A guest came to me after their movie and tried to get credit for an unused seat, and showed me an email he got from Gerard that said to go to box office upon arrival. I explained that I couldn't give them credit but I did give them a pass and explained the restrictions. I also explained that if they needed credit for a seat, that it was time sensitive and when the film ends the ticket is no longer active. They seemed to understand and were happy with the pass.  BAR Staff Observations: Jenn and Ian opened, Lobby and Trees, and did a great job prepping for service and for trivia.  Joe killed it with Ian and Jenn for trivia and had a great ...

Jenn 04.04

Manager Communication : Quiet first round, but the combination of second round Everything screenings, the first week of Volo coming through after the games, and a great crowd for Repo Man meant Trees was very busy from about six through last call.  Customer Comments : Around 9:30pm, a guest came down to Lobby Bar and asked to close out her check early.  She was in Th2, which had already dropped checks, and she said that her server had already taken her card.  I advised her to return to her theater, as while she a had a printed seat ticket, she told me she had changed seats from what she purchased.  Since the movie was so close to ending, and I could not look up her check by seat number reliably, I again advised her to return to her theater, which she did. She seemed to think that we ran the theater checks at the bar, and I believe that is why she seemed confused by the process of payment.  I touched base with her server (Ryan) and he told me that he had ran her ...

Jenn 04.03

Manager Communication : Trees had a great crowd from about four, all the way through 10:00/10:30. Even with a third-round slump at service bar due to Morbius playing in both Th1 and Th2, Trees was very busy throughout. Lobby Bar was similarly busy most of the evening.  BAR Staff Observations : Jenna and Jo handled brunch very well, and were able to get out of here once closers were in and everyone had eaten.  I swung Tevon up to Trees before Ashley arrived, as the crowd was very large and Jo was focused on doing a large restock to prepare for dinner rounds. Tevon has really been a big help on these weekend midshifts, deftly moving between bars as service demands. Similarly, Ian was a batching machine today, helping restock a walk-in that was left pretty bare after post-brunch restocks. Both he and Tevon were able to get out of here around 9:30/10:00.  Ryan was great in Lobby tonight, handling the end of the night solo, and helping Ashley do a final restock. Ashley handled...

Jenn/Jesse 4.2

Manager Communication : Opening round was fairly easygoing, with the Prisoner of Azkaban screening drawing the largest crowd. Lobby had a pretty busy second round, led by Batman, while Trees was a bit more mellow due to low sales for Morbius.  Trees had a small crowd starting at around one, which steadily grew throughout the day. JH Same vibe to the PM service today, it was a real back and forth. We'd get extremely busy at both service and Trees surrounding Everything Everywhere Screenings but splitting 1 & 2 with Morbius made it feel more mellow than our past few weekends. Good service though, new drinks are going out great and getting very good feedback. Was able to Cut Jo at 9 pm, Ashley at 9:15 pm and roll through the rest of service no problem. Trees had a good crowd through 10 pm then emptied out. JM BAR Staff Observations : Ian and Chelsea did great opening both bars and adapting to the new menu. Ian was able to get juicing out of the way for Trees early on in the day, w...

Nick Friday April 1 Spring Menu Change

Manager Communication: Menu Change was very smooth. Shout out to Jesse and Jenn for getting everything set up today. Service was great, no issues with the new drinks.  86ed / counts on items : Dona never came in so we are 86ed on that, as well as hamilton Black Rum. Both should be in on Monday at the latest.  Prep List: We were able to get most things batched up today. Jenn is going to prep a pineapple ginger syrup, a vanilla syrup and strawberry infused gin tomorrow so we can get batched up on everything.  Big sellers from the new items are mr. Fusion and Verse Jump R&D comp checks : We added the food and bev from the tasting yesterday and comped to staff perk Pay Outs: I did a $280 payout for Li, for work he did in the kitchen.  Maintenance: Keys are sticking in the MOD door, also the locker room door is still not opening out, I put it on the maintenance doc. Again at about 10:30pm all the hot water in Trees stopped working.
