Manager Communication: Good night tonight. Busy at the bar. We were able to get the openers out before 10.  BAR Staff Observations: Great crew.  Prep List: Eliel was able to back up everything tonight, so we should be pretty stocked going in to the weekend.  Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: We did not receive Empire this week. It is coming Tuesday, but we are low on Milagro, Old Forester, and combier pamplemousse. We should make it through though. 

Manager Communication: Pretty good night. Nice Trees business. It all went pretty smoothly.  BAR Staff Observations: Chelsea opened Lobby while Ashley opened Trees. They were both great help, Andrea and Tevon closed. They were pretty great as well.  Special Events? Zodiac had a great enthusiastic crowd.  Prep List : The back up Mystery Train keg needs to be finished and charged once the Combier Pampelmousse arrives. JH Horchata needs strained EL Pay Outs : $8.00 (Oranges). $3.00 (Rose for Garnish). JH Lost & Found?: Someone lost their phone before they went into their movie and we found it after their movie got out. We actually had it longer but thought it belonged to someone else because the guest dropped the phone in the theater after entering it accidentally when the previous film was still playing. It all worked out and they were very happy. EL Ordering/Receiving/Shipping : Baldor and US Foods arriving tomorrow. JH Maintenance: Lobby bar register drawer isn't open...

Manager Communication: Super mellow open and slow first round. I had Darius redo the inserts for the menu with the correct pages. EA The evening was good at Trees and a few pops in theaters.  Lobby had some good traffic too. EL BAR Staff Observations:  Darius and Chelsea had no problem setting up and got going as soon as the first guests came through the first door. They handled the service perfectly fine and had no problems. EA Chelsea did a bunch of batching while Gabrielle handled Lobby smoothly. Darius stayed until Trees+Theaters were calm, bar was stocked and side work was completed. Service was smooth. EL FOH Staff Observations: Kaya took the liberty of sitting at the bar top when family meal came out. Sarah spoke to her reminded her that it was not OK for staff to sit at the bar top during family meal, but they are more than welcome to sit in the Mezz to enjoy their meal if it is not occupied.  This is not the first instance of her testing boundaries with managers,...

Manager Communication : Very busy dinner round that dovetailed neatly with the initial service push from Trees.  JH BAR Staff Observations : Eliel, Ian, and Tevon absolutely crushed Trees service during Trivia tonight.  It was a busy one, and was coupled with a very busy dinner round along with the private screening in Th4.  Similarly, Lee held down Lobby solo without issue once Eliel went upstairs to work Trivia, and was a big help with resetting Trees once Trivia was over. JH FOH Staff Observations : Still having confusion from servers during busier pushes about where to put drity glassracks, or where clean glassracks live, even with the signage.  During the busiest service push in the second round, I had to correct two separate servers in the space of five minutes who tried to pull water glasses from dirty glassracks. Big shoutout to Kaela, James, and Rebecca who were immensely helpful up at Trees during that same service push.  Kaela was really proactive abo...

Manager Communication : The Woman King continued to sell really well in Th5 for the first two rounds, and Don't Worry Darling, Moonage Daydream, and Pearl really carried the dinner round. JH BAR Staff Observations : Jenna did a great job opening Lobby, and holding it down with minimal assistance throughout the night.   Lee apparently did not do a full stock when opening, so by the time Natasha arrived and the second round Don't Worry began seating, there was some confusion about what was and was not stocked behind the bar.  Natasha really led the way during service, and drink times were never unduly impacted, but Lee was definitely unprepared for service and did not handle the stress in an exemplary manner.   Myself and Edgar will speak with Nick tomorrow about tonight's service, and will probably speak with Lee about it during his shift tomorrow. Manager Communication: Mellow start to the day, but the numbers increased as the day unfolded. Lobby bar saw quite a bit of action with the dinner round selling very well and a few late nights filling out as well. Trees was busy pretty much all day as well with a surprise pop around 10 when it started raining. That helped retain people and kept them drinking. EA BAR Staff Observations: Tevon and Natasha opened lobby and trees bars and held it down until Jenna and Miguel got in. They rocked the dinner shift alongside the closers (Darius and Ashley) and stayed most of the shift. Ashley handled an unexpected pop by herself when the rain started. Both closed down their stations with no problem. EA FOH Staff Observations: FOH hustled tonight and were helpful in returning glassware to the bar to get cleaned. EA Prep List:  One Negroni Keg. Manager Communication : Pretty slow start to the day, but really picked up a little after noon, with sales rising for the rest of the day, too. JH Dinner kept everyone busy with 1st floor selling well all throughout dinner and late round. Don't Worry Darling had a sold out Dinner round as well with a decently sold late round. EA Mats were taken down to the porters to be washed.  BAR Staff Observations : Andrea and Natasha were great openers, and I went over the new drinks with both of them and let them know to review the builds and garnishes in the bar binders.  Chelsea and Tevon came in as mids to help navigate the busier second round screenings, and Andrea and Natasha got out of here shortly before five. JH Chelsea and Tevon were clutch as todays mids to assist Gabrielle, Darius, and Ian. The bar felt like a bar today and had a lot of bodies all throughout the afternoon and into the night. Manager Communication: Great menu launch. Bar service went really well. We were pretty busy all night, so they were not able to complete the second beer board in trees if they can get to that tomorrow. Also at some point can somebody make sure we have everything on the trees liquor list stocked on the back bar.  Customer Comments : Had a guest come to Trees during the dinner round Th1 screening to ask Gabrielle for silverware. She said she had asked for some, but never received it. She was not upset, and went back into theater once Gabrielle gave her two roll ups. JH Prep List: Chelsea made a ton of stuff tonight. We did not make a Legends of the fall backup, but we only sold a couple tonight, so it is not very urgent Everything else should be batched up.  Over/Short on Banks: Trees was $5.50 short at the end of the night. Manager Communication : Slow first round, but that ramped up into a very busy dinner round across all floors, with Don’t Worry Darling leading the way. JH The rest of the evening was busy and eventful.  The first floor had a great third round.  Bar Prep trash and recycling was never taken out. EL Customer Comments:   There was an uncomfortable interaction with someone who was not there to see a movie and tried to scam a burger and was exhibiting erratic behavior at Trees.  Food was never ordered, and they got a beer in their hands before it was clear to us that she wasn't going to pay for anything. We stopped serving her and she walked out of the building, then back in and into the Mezz for a little while, where the MODs and I decided to let her stay up there for a bit to cool off because we didn't want a scene at a full Trees Lounge waiting to get into the last round. Manager Communication: Simple day for the bar staff. Not much going on in terms of sales, so cleaning was the name of the game. EA Pretty easy evening getting ready for tomorrow.  BAR Staff Observations:  Ashley and Darius opened up today and I got to talk to them about the tip error on Sunday. Both were very receptive and apologetic. I believe it was just an honest mistake and I told them just to be careful going forward.  They got into a bunch of cleaning activities since we was a pretty slow start. EA Ian did some light batching, Darius got out shortly after Hot Fuzz sat. EL Special Events? Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Darius had to scrape out the freezer again. Manager Communication : Decent dinner rounds this evening, with Mars Attacks! bringing a great crowd to Trees beforehand, and pushing a lot of drink service throughout the screening. JH BAR Staff Observations : Eliel held down Lobby solo all evening without issue.  Ian and Tevon were great at Trees, with Ian getting out of here once we were through the initial service push for the Mars Attacks! screening.  Ian used the last of the Pineapple Ginger syrup to make one last batch of Mr. Fusion, with all in-house supply being stocked at Trees. Eliel washed the bubbler containing the Mr. Fusion, and it is ready for menu change.  Once Lobby goes through its remaining Neon Demon, have a bartender clean the frozen machine and have all remaining Neon Demons come from Trees.  This way all menu change cleaning tasks do not fall on Thursday closers who will have had a long day with the meeting. Manager Communication:  Slow starting Monday with no real pops that the bar couldn't handle. See How They run and Body Doubles saw a decent turn out for the Dinner/late round   BAR Staff Observations: Eliel ran the lobby bar by himself and seldom needed a hand. I had him out relatively early since the last show in TH7 only had a small handful of people. Jenna opened trees and stayed as productive as possible until I decided to cut her when I ran out of side work to give her and she was able to give Eliel and Lee a small break.  Lee came in to close and enjoyed the pop at the bar that kept him busy while he handled tickets as well. Tonight at Trees, Lee came up to me twice saying he was missing an ingredient or garnish for a cocktail without actually taking the time to look for them. ...

Manager Communication:  It was gorgeous day and we had a better Sunday than the last couple of days. The Woman King and See How They run did pretty well. Barbarian continued to rise in numbers throughout the day as well. EA BAR Staff Observations: Jenna and Natasha held down the bar until Ashley came in as the mid for both floors. Natasha was cut when Darius came in to close and Jenna was cut soon after. Everyone stayed pretty busy throughout with a good number of walk ins EA 86ed / counts on items:  collective arts sour, LIC, Old Overholt. Low on Fusion again, but the bars are stocked with a bit to get through.  Prep List: There's both the Pearl and SHTR cocktails at both bars with both having a 2-qt in the walk in. We have enough to start and even get through tomorrow, but if both specials are staying through the next few releases, we should consider batching tomorrow to have them ready.  A Bit low of Neon Demon in the walk in, but sufficiently stocked at the bars...

Manager Communication : Mellow start to the day, with each round growing steadily in sales throughout the day.  The Woman King is doing well in Th1 during dinner rounds, as is Barbarian in Th3 around the same time. JH Dinner got a good pop with See How they Run filling out quite a bit. It looks like with a lot of these upcoming releases, we're seeing more people. EA Customer Comments : Had two guests from the Stardust screening pass on their compliments to Kat for doing an amazing job with all of the preshows they have seen at Nitehawk.  JH BAR Staff Observations : Natasha opened Lobby without issue, and I helped Miguel open Trees, as it was his first time opening Trees for brunch.  He did a great job, which Chelsea echoed when she came in and helped both bars restock.  Once Lee was in, both bars got through the afternoon with very smooth services on both floors. Natasha got out of here right before five, and Miguel left shortly after, once he had done one final rest...

Manager Communication:  A busier night than we have had recently, we were down one bartender, but it was still very manageable.  We did have a power surge around 6pm. It flipped a couple breakers, but we were able to get everything running very quickly. The fire department came shortly after and said that there was smoke from a manhole on the corner. I took them down to the basement and they tested for C02, but everything was clear. They said we shouldn't have any further issues.  We are pretty low on some of the T-Shirt options.  The base with the motors for our new bubbler finally came in. It is on the bar top. Unfortunately the rest of the parts are still in transit and will not arrive for a couple days. I already broke down the old bubbler, so we will have to use store n' pours for the time being.  I was very clear with Jameson about closing responsibilities tonight. Papa and I both spoke to him, so there should be no excuse for things not being done properl...

Manager Communication : Very slow first round, with the Kevin Geeks Out About Dinosaurs bringing a great crowd to Trees afterwards. JH Trees stayed lively all night.  BAR Staff Observations : We definitely could have cut a bartender today, but due to everyone's outside work schedule, we were unable to land on an appropriate solution.  Definitely something to keep an eye on over the weekend and into next week.   Eliel cut Chelsea right after closers were in, and then Ashley was able to get out of here after the initial service push from Kevin Geeks Out was through.  JH Miguel had a good lobby close.  Lee handled the Kevin crowd very well.  86ed / counts on items: Old Overhault Prep List: Ready for the weekend. Manager Communication: Slow evening.  Barbarian had a little dinner round pop. Trees benefited from that. Nice crowds.  BAR Staff Observations: Chelsea worked Lobby, Gabrielle opened Trees and got out after Ashley, the closer, batched and stocked, and after Chelsea took a break. Manager Communication : Pretty chill day, but both bars had a fair amount of traffic for a weekday.  Not too much of a crowd at either bar once the third round movies began last calling, so it was a relatively laid back close. BAR Staff Observations : Eliel held down Lobby solo all night without issue, and was able to get out of here just around eleven.  Ian opened Trees, got some very light batching done, and then made sure Darius was all set at Trees once the Funny Pages Q&A got out.  Darius kept up with guests at the bar and theater service no problem, and wrapped up Trees just after midnight.  Prep List : The Do Not Batch list has been updated to reflect the end of this season's menu, so let's make sure we are batching judiciously.  Pay Outs : $100.00 (Funny Pages - Owen Kline DJ)

Manager Communication: Jenn was out due to a personal issue, but it was just fine since it was a particularly slow day today.  BAR Staff Observations: Lee and Jenna opened Lobby and Trees and had a pretty slow open so they stuck to cleaning duties. Darius was good to takeover after I had Jenna stock up a bit and fill the sugar/tea caddies.  The Trees close was a little bit subpar last night. There were a few odds and ends that were not taken care off by Miguel: -The Dishwasher wasn't broken down -The Lapsang Salt dish was left out with a lemon wedge. -There was can of open ginger beer -The coffee urn wasn't cleaned out.  I will be following up with him the next time I see him to make sure we iron out these details. Manager Communication: Brunch seemed mellow with a solid crowd for Sundays on Fire. After that it was pretty smooth sailing throughout the rest of the days.  Customer Comments:  We had a guest walk out on Miguel with a burger on her tab she ordered at Trees. She was sitting  at the bar and witness friends she was looking for getting escorted down and out from the mezzanine for lighting up a joint and smoking. As soon as Miguel and I discussed dropping her check she was out the door. The MOD blog can elaborate on this further. EA  BAR Staff Observations:  Tevon and Natasha opened up today and held it down with Ashley as our mid. As soon as it was appropriate, Natasha was cut and Tevon soon after when Darius came in to close lobby.  It wasn't super busy, but Miguel was able to hold his own in Trees after Ashley was cut.  Closing was smooth with Darius in lobby and Miguel in Trees.  EA Special Events? Manager Communication : Very mellow brunch today, as we navigate the end of the summer slowdown.  JH Dinner was easy going too. We had a brief pop for the dinner round of Barbarian, and a decent crowd for the late round of Bodies and Barbarian. EA BAR Staff Observations : With ticket sales looking lean throughout the day, we offered the cut to all bartenders scheduled after opening.  Chelsea and Gabrielle both took the cut, Tevon elected to remain a mid between both floors, Ian was moved down to Lobby to close, and Lee is now scheduled to close Trees. Schedulefly was updated with new in-times once cuts had been approved.  Good opens by Jenna and Natasha, with some cleaning getting done behind the bar during the earlier hours of service.  Natasha was able to get out of here around 3:30, and Tevon covered Lobby until Ian arrived. Manager Communication:  pretty good evening. Barbarian had a great draw and a pretty good Trees crowd.  Pretty smooth evening.  BAR Staff Observations: Ian and Chelsea opened. Ian was cut shortly after the closers arrived and everyone ate. Chelsea did some batching and left soon after. Darius was cut from Trees at about 12 and Ashley closed out while Gabrielle closed lobby bar. All went smooth.  86ed / counts on items:  LIC  Prep List: Espresso Martini is feeling light. Maybe we make 1/2 Keg?  Pay Outs:  $240 Repair Turntable.  Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Grabbed the last bottle of NuFoam from the liquor room.  Maintenance:  The Trees Dishwasher’s dump sink is out of order. The pipe that leads the water into the drain well is unattached and leaning on the back wall. I was unable to reattach and added it to the maintenance doc. 

Manager Communication:  Smooth evening, nice crowds at Trees tonight before and after movies. It definitely feels like people coming out again and hanging out.  BAR Staff Observations:  Ashley and Gabrielle opened, Gabrielle was cut after Andrea arrived to close lobby. Ashley stayed until after the No Country rush. And Ian is back and closed Lee FOH Staff Observations: Someone switched around the dirty glass racks with the clean ones at Trees.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes : Ashley noted that there has been confusion about what juices to stock behind the bars.  She has found Natalie's lemon juice stocked behind both bars recently, which neither require.  It appears that some newer bartenders may not be as aware of the differences between the juices between the Trees cocktail well and service wells.   Something for Bar Managers and Leads to be aware of going forward.  Let's make sure to touch base with bartenders about the difference, and maybe ...

Manager Communication:  Slow day.   Customer Comments: I accidentally and absentmindedly poured a neon demon for a Strawberry Lemonade slushy going to the 4:30 bodies. The drink hit the table and a minor took a sip and their parent sent it back. Paul was first contact with the Party and spoke to them after the movie. I’m very sorry for such a horrible mistake. More details in the FOH blog.  BAR Staff Observations:  Darius and Gabrielle opened and were cut as soon as the closers Ashley & Tevon arrived.  Both had smooth closes.  86ed / counts on items:  Cold Brew is back! Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: got Coffee today.  Maintenance: One of the nuts in the bottom sprayer of the dishwasher at Trees came loose and sprayed everywhere. I found the nut and screwed it back in. All fixed.

Manager Communication : The first round screening of Minions did really well, thanks to summer vacation winding down with a very rainy day.  Other than that, the first half of the day was pretty mellow. JH Dinner was pretty thin as well with the exception of Trivia. Easy close at lobby and Trees BAR Staff Observations : Tevon and Eliel opened Trees and Lobby and were cruising. Eliel crushed the floor during Trivia with Tevon and Chelsea behind the bar, then it cleared and Chelsea closed easily.  Special Events ? Trivia which had a good turn out despite the rainy weather. Sign o the times was sleepy.  Ordering/Receiving/Shipping : Stumptown arriving tomorrow. JH Maintenance : The service lowboy is still draining slowly. Did we get this on the maintence doc?

Manager Communication : Kids movies definitely led the way for the first half of today, but we felt prepared on the floors and behind the bars.  Some little pops of service here and there, but nothing too protracted. JH Dinner wasn't too crazy either, I was able to get the openers out at a decent time after it felt like Chelsea and Lee could handle the crowds on their own. Starship Troopers brought in a decent crowd, but not many post film drinkers. EA BAR Staff Observations : Stellar openings from Darius and Jenna this morning, especially since both bars were closed with great care last night, setting them both up for success.  I only ever had to hope behind the bar with Darius to help with the initial service push for the 2:30 Super-Pets, while he focused on bar guests.  Otherwise. both bartenders were great at communicating any service needs to myself and the other MODs. Manager Communication : Incredibly mellow day compared to yesterday. There were small pops here and there, but the bar pretty ran itself on auto pilot.  Customer Comments : Had a guest who never received their chicken sandwich. It was eventually found in theater 1. By then the guest had gone into the film and I comped it as it never made it to Trees. EA BAR Staff Observations :  Natasha and Jenna opened the bar. I asked them both if they’d prefer an early cut or stay the full time, they both opted for hours so after conferring with Edgar I contacted Tevon and Miguel and offered them a cut, which they both gladly accepted. Lee was pushed to 4:30pm. EL Darius and Lee held it down after the openers took off for the day. Openers left them stocked and ready to go and traded off with the closers so that everyone would have family meal. All bar staff were great at communicating via walkie when something was needed. Manager Communication : Busy, busy, busy all day.  Lots of new guests today due to $3 tickets, and theaters on all floors throughout were either sold out, or very close to it, for the vast majority of the day. JH It continued to be busy for the rest of dinner both at Trees and in the theaters. Everything virtually sold out. It looks like there was a fair amount of guests that returned to trees after the film. EA Customer Comments : A guest at Lobby Bar became irate and cursed out Tevon when she was unable to buy tickets to the 3:30pm Super-Pets screening in Th2, as there were no grouping of seats available to accommodate her group.  After Tevon explained that she could not purchase solitary seats throughout the theater for the children in her party, she proceeded to yell and curse at him, storming out of the building.   I was not at Lobby Bar when this happened, but Natasha got Sarah's attention and Sarah then relayed the situation to me.  I touched base with Te...

Manager Communication: Another mellow day with not much picking up speed. Cut the openers shortly after the closers were all in. Was an early cut for Gabrielle as the Trees mid as well as it was clear that we weren't going to see much action afterwards for the night. Lee was able to handle tickets and the guests as they approached the bar.  Jenn and I had Lee come in early for his performance review. He seemed to be very receptive to the feedback, although confided in me later that he was a bit sad and doesn't want to be perceived as someone that's hard to work with. EA BAR Staff Observations: Bar was opened with ease by our leads (Ashley and Eliel). Everyone worked well together and moods were positive. Ashley spent a bit of time in the back batching and was cut right after she was done. Gabrielle took the first have of the service bar while Lee was guest facing. Both were great. BAR Staff Observations:  Chelsea opened lobby and was done by the time I came in.
