Manager Communication: No one showtime really dominated today, pretty even throughout the day and relatively slow. Small pops to the bars when Th1 & 2 sat but all extremely manageable by a good team. Was able to break all staff once Ashley was in and then cut the Trees opener by 5:30 pm. BAR Staff Observations: Many thanks to Gabrielle and Chelsea who had very tight opens to manage due to my mistake on in times. They were ready to rock by the time doors opened.  86ed / counts on items: Very briefly out of coffee but then Stumptown orders arrived Prep List: Made all non keg cocktails today to finish things up getting ready for the weekend. Well stocked at bars and in walk in. May need to turn Bloody Concentrate into Bloody tomorrow but there is some to get going. Pay Outs: Gabrielle and Chelsea are owed pay outs for Ubers they took to get here on time to open. Will bring receipts tomorrow to get them done. Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Interior, Baldor and Stumptown came today

Manager Communication: Strong opening round today, it seemed like we got more traffic to all of the theaters with a nice, spread out flow. Dinner round was more of the same. Customer Comments: (EL) A guest came out of the th5 Nightmare alley pre show during the last round because the people in front of her took their masks off.  She moved her party back a row and seemed really bothered.  I asked Jeanette who was on the other side of Lobby bar to speak to the maskless guests and I informed the guest that they would be allowed to remove their masks when they received drinks or food. I gave the guest the new tickets and they returned to the theater.  They did not seem very happy with the outcome.  BAR Staff Observations: Jo was not feeling well today and got cut. She tested negative, not a Covid concern as of right now but she said she will keep us posted.  FOH Staff Observations: Everyone was great. RM needed help flipping 6 for the last round because she needed t...

Manager Communication: Similar flow to yesterday with a slightly slower final round, but it's nice to have 4/6 back to round things out. Trickling bar crowds throughout the day when the big theaters filled up. Solid day overall with no issues. BAR Staff Observations: Ian was rock solid downstairs solo today, only calling for and needing help once during a heavy push of ticket booth work alongside some guests ordering drinks and theater tickets. Ryan and Gabrielle were predictably super solid at Trees, with Ryan breaking both bars before Gab got cut and handling the final round easy. FOH Staff Observations: Particularly big shout out to Nathaniel and Darius for being noticeably strong on support and drink running. They are ever present by the bars when trays are filling up. Sick Leave/ Call outs: Jenn out with Covid Prep List: We will need Paloma, French 75 and Old Fashioned kegs tomorrow. Good on other batches. Pay Outs: Two $20 pay outs. One to catch the bank up from yesterday whe...

Manager Communication: Spider-man and Licorice Pizza had good crowds, while everything else did slightly better than usual but not by much.  Customer Comments: I did two cash refunds at 10:27pm.  It was a group of 6 that wanted to watch Spider-man together but they insisted on buying tickets separately and when there weren't enough tickets for the group they asked for a refund. I informed them that we don't do refunds and they insinuated that their need for the cash back was paramount and that they didn't live near and wouldn't be returning so I acquiesced.  BAR Staff Observations:  Ryan had a long lobby shift. Chelsea did great opening Trees.  Once Tevon came in, we made sure all three ate, then gave Ryan a 30 minute break with Chelsea's help, then cut Chelsea.  I helped Tevon with a couple of small Spidey rushes but it was all very manageable.  FOH Staff Observations: Everyone seemed to do well.   86ed / counts on items:  Coca Cola is ...

Manager Communication : Fairly steady dinner round on both floors, and Spider-Man stayed pretty well sold for all three rounds. Definitely had a nice little bar crowd at Trees in the hour between the second round Spider-Man and Matrix screenings.  BAR Staff Observations : Solid team today. Was able to get both openers out shortly after closers arrived, after restocks and Ian was able to get some batching done.  86ed / counts on items : Saratoga Sparkling is still 86’d.  Prep List : Ian made a keg of Paloma (it is charged and ready for service), Lemonade, and a 1.5x batch of Hot Toddy. I batched Michelada during the last round.  Blood Simple, Winter Daiquiri, and Fire Walk With Me should be batched tomorrow, but both bars are stocked for open and have back up. Careful What You Wish For and Honey Syrup can also be made tomorrow, if there is time.  Grapefruit Syrup needs to be made sometime this week, as we do not have enough left for another Paloma keg.  Pay ...

Manager Communication: Pretty similar flow to yesterday with the early and late rounds being a bit slower. We got a nice hit to Trees for the dinner rounds from Spidey, not so much Matrix, and a good bar crowd from 6 pm to around 8:30 pm with it tapering off after that. Some daytime bar business as well from what I could see when I came in, nothing that was too much for the bar team to handle but a nice addition of energy nonetheless. Ryan was sent home after an hour and a half because he felt very sick from his booster; Tevon came in early to help cover and Eliel covered in the mean time with two managers on the floor, so no issues handling that. Cuts and breaks easy to execute and tight today for staffing.  BAR Staff Observations: Good stocking by Ashley and Tevon before leaving the closers and tight closes by Jo and Gab. Nice, easy going and positive day. 86ed / counts on items: Saratoga Sparkling Prep List: Should be very healthy going in to the week, just a keg of paloma neede...

Manager Communication : Merry Christmas! It was an easygoing morning, with second and third round screenings steadily gaining tickets sales throughout the day. A fairly mellow, but steady Saturday brunch crowd on both open floors. JH BAR Staff Observations : Chelsea and Isi had a fairly easy open, and each bar restocked when mids came in. I was able to cut Isi just after the second round Spider-Man and Matrix seatings, and Chelsea as first floor second round was winding down.  JH FOH Staff Observations : Everyone was really great all morning, drinks never lingered in the pass and trays were kept stocked at both bars. JH 86ed / counts on items : Saratoga Still was 86’d in the Mobilebytes, even though we had it in stock. POS was updated.  Coca Cola is out downstairs, we have some cans for tomorrow, when those run out, we will have to pour from trees until we can get a delivery. -ND There is a count on Saratoga Sparkling, all bottles are behind both bars. JH Prep List : Batched B...

Manager Communication: A very eventful Christmas Eve.  Pretty good bar crowd at Trees before the last Spidey.  Customer Comments: I helped Jesse escort a person out of Theater 1 because they did not have a ticket. The person with them who was sitting separately quickly joined him unprompted,  I watched them turn the corner and leave.   During the last TH1 Spidey we got calls of people being disruptive in the theater.  There was a big group of 11 but to my understanding only a couple of them were being drunkenly disruptive.  Jeanette gave one couple in the group a warning, when we went back in with another complaint we asked them to leave, which they did not want to do.  We told Ryan to drop their check which was at about $117.  One of the drunk people needed to use apple pay, so when I saw Ryan escort him to the service area, I did not let him back into the theater.  Jeanette and Jeremy were with me.  He was drunk and kept saying dr...

Manager Communication: Pretty good night. Not a ton busy but Spider-man is still doing heavy lifting. It brought in some good Trees business after the dinner round let out.  Customer Comments:  BAR Staff Observations: Gabrielle was great at Lobby all night. Chelsea and Ashley were great at Trees.  Cut Chelsea after the 9:15 Spidey rush.   FOH Staff Observations:  Great team today. Runners were wonderful.  Special Events?: Th 6 close out went well and Chenelle told us they gave a special shout out to the bartender and they loved the drinks! Prep List: Paloma keg tomorrow

Jenn 12.20

Manager Communication : Really Monday, all three rounds. Spider-Man is still going strong, and the Eyes Wide Shut screening was pretty popular, too.  BAR Staff Observations : Everyone really rocked it today behind both bars. Natasha N. was solo in Lobby all night, and handled guest flow wonderfully. She’s really been asking a lot of questions about new menu items, and has definitely been building her confidence as a bartender.  Ryan was very helpful and stuck around to get Jo through the initial Eyes Wide Shut service push, and helped her out with a restock before clocking out. But h he and Jo handled service bar handily all night, which was helpful in freeing me up to catch up on some batching.  FOH Staff Observations : Ed and Danny were incredibly helpful at Trees service bar today.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes : The Careful What You Wish For frozen machine at Trees was put back together incorrectly last night, and about a gallon of product was lost when it was refi...

Manager Communication :  Pretty good steady morning which ramped up when the spider hit the big ones. EL Second half of the day was similarly busy, with first floor having a slower last round while Spider-Man kept the upper floors busy through close. JH Customer Comments :  A lot of frustrated customers trying to buy what looked like available seats for Spider-man. I think this will be the last day with this problem. I explained to everyone I encountered what was happening and they seemed to understand by the end of the interactions. EL BAR Staff Observation s:  Natasha was about 15 minutes late. Once she got in she recovered the lost time quickly. Then the morning was pretty easy.  Ryan was early!  I pushed Tevon back to 4pm since Isi wasn't coming. Ryan held down lobby.  I had to help with ticketing a couple of times but he was solid. Gabrielle was a great mid. EL Once the initial dinner round push of Spider-Man was seated, I was able to have Jenna help T...

Manager Communication : A mellow open with our two special holiday screenings, that quickly ramped up once Spider-Man hit the larger theaters. Great work all around today, and a decent bar crowd from 4-10.  BAR Staff Observations : Busy day behind the bar, and everyone did a pretty good job. Openers, Dylan and Natasha N., did a great job setting both bars up for success this morning.  Natasha K. ran just about thirty minutes late, I believe she was confused on her in time. But, once she and Ian arrived, it was a smooth transition into busier rounds, and I was able to cut both openers shortly after closers arrived.  I had Jo and Jenna lead the service rush for the last two seatings of Spider-Man. Jo is really fantastic at keeping busy and transitioning from service bar, to guest service, and keeping a running stock list. Jenna had some issues remembering new menu items, but was able to gain her footing as the evening went on.  I reviewed the Toddy urn breakdown with c...

Manager Communication: Spider-man kicked our butts.  No disasters though. we all rallied and got through the shift relatively unscathed. Very busy at Trees Lounge           Customer Comments: Customers seemed very happy and joyful at Trees.  It felt like a Friday.  BAR Staff Observations:  Everyone came ready for war.  Trees was busy right away with Spider-man, and that continued all night. I pulled Natasha N from lobby and she worked the dinner rounds at Trees while Natasha K held down lobby.  She was very good with the Swatch People. Gabrielle stayed through the last sold out round with Ian who did great keeping up stock and keeping up with the steady flow of drink orders and customers at Trees.  I had to jump in several times to help.  FOH Staff Observations:  Everyone was great.  Special Events?: Swatch in theater 7, but only a fraction of the guests came. The people working for Swatch were really nice. ...

Manager Communication: Slow night besides the theater 6 engagement party. It really felt like the Quiet before the Storm today. BAR Staff Observations: Pretty good team today. Openers got cut soon after the closers arrived. Jenn got cut after she helped batch for the upcoming menu      FOH Staff Observations: Shouts to Jovani, John and Darius along with Jeremy and Isabell for doing a great job getting bubbly and popcorn to everyone right when they needed it. Great team. Special Events? The proposal party in theater 6 went really well. Almost melted my cold heart. Malice didn't have a big crowd, which is a shame because Nitehawk Diaries is wonderful.  86ed / counts on items: We got interboro IPA & Gin&Juice back. Jungle Bird is indefinitely  86ed. Prep List: Made some Lapsang Ginger Syrup, and Jenn helped batch a hot toddy and Blood simple.  Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Case of Oranges, Limes, Lemons, 3x OJ, case of Tomato juice, Maraschino cherries,...

Jenn 12.14

Manager Communication : Pretty typical Tuesday night, aside from Special Events. The 14th Street Association event at Trees, a really well-sold screening of It’s A Wonderful Life in Theater 1, and an impromptu birthday party that hung out at Trees before heading in to see the last round West Side Story really kept Trees fairly full and bopping until well into the third round.  BAR Staff Observations : Was able to get Eliel out a little before seven, and had Tevon stay up at Trees with Jo through the 14th Street Association event. Strong, seamless closes by both Natasha K. and Jo.  Special Events? 14th Street Association had a lovely little shindig at Trees from a little before six ‘til a little after eight. They seemed to have a great time, and were more than pleased with their corner of Trees.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes : There has been a little confusion regarding the fact that our beer and shot specials are not eligible for further discount (employee, token, or other...

Jesse 12/13

Manager Communication: Slow and steady all day today. Small pops for West Side Story and the late Theater 1 event but otherwise nothing but smooth sailing. Got lots of prep and organizing done, broke opening bartenders when Jenna got in and was able to cut Isi at 7 pm.  BAR Staff Observations: Jenna is adjusting well but needs a slightly more weathered eye when it comes to keeping up on stock and garnishes etc. Ran low without back ups because it was her first time solo, I walked her through when and how to stock to avoid it. Special Events? The Last Boy Scout in Th1 was great, everyone loved seeing the work print and the convo afterwards. Prep List: Made what is likely the last ginger lime slushie we will need. Bittersweet.  Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Coca Cola and Geyser tomorrow, Baldor Wednesday

Eliel/Jenn 12.12

Manager Communication :  Slow start, good Elf, nice vibe all day. EL Dinner round was nice and steady, and we had a fair amount of tickets sold for the last round. Service was fairly chill, with no disruptions to report. JH Customer Comments :  Had a group come to Trees after a West Side Story screening. That movie is making folks merry and some are hanging at Trees longer than after a usual flick. EL BAR Staff Observations :  Chelsea and Natasha had great solid opens. Ian Ashley and Tevon were great mids. Chelsea was cut after Tevon arrived and Natasha was cut after Ashley arrived  and Brunch was stored for the week. EL Really smooth transition into dinner service, and I was able to get all mids out once orders had died down, and after solid restocks and organization.  Ashley was a big help restocking wines in the walk in and walking Jo through cleaning the frozen machines. Both Ashley and Tevon were able to clean one frozen machine for each bar before clocking...

Jesse/Jenn 12/11

Manager Communication: Nice, busy open for brunch this morning lead by Elf, West Side Story, and Serendipity. Second round was also great, with later screenings slowly rising in numbers throughout the day. JH Trend continued into the dinner and late rounds tonight, with solid pick ups for everything save for Don't Look Up and Ricardos. These got somewhat busy for the dinner rounds, but kept things busy but manageable. Bar crowds were sparse until 6 pm and then stayed consistently busy through close; great energy once things picked up. A very well handled day. JM Customer Comments: A couple mentioned that they were given vague directions to the elevator and then took the wrong one, resulting in a man with a cane ending up taking some stairs. They were not very upset but just wanted to point out that we should be more specific. Spoke to the bartenders and door. JM BAR Staff Observations: Chelsea and Natasha N had great opens and were well-prepared for a busier than usual opening roun...

Jesse/Nick 12/10

Manager Communication: Slow start to the day with business ramping up as we entered the dinner and late rounds, mostly concentrated to West Side Story and Gucci theaters. Well handled by all on staff today, we got some nice bar energy to both bars prior to the event and at Trees during the dinner round.  BAR Staff Observations: Good opens from Jenn and Chelsea, much appreciated how much stocking got done at the onset to set up the rest of the team. FOH Staff Observations: Good drink running today, very present support for all theaters today.  Special Events? West Side Story screening was a big success, drew a great crowd to Lobby bar and then Trees and then the energy carried right into the theater.  86ed / counts on items: Got some Finback, Lambrusco and Zombie in so we are just 86 Barrier, Evil Twin and Mulatshak Prep List: Made lots of the film specials today, well batched for the weekend. Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Baldor, Empire and Aria came in today Maintenance: ...

Jenn 12.09

Manager Communication :  Slow first round today, plenty of time for openers to clean low boy bases and stock up. Not much else to report from early service. JM Second round was pretty busy for a weeknight, helped along by West Side Story and the Found Footage Festival Screening. Last round had some decently-sold showings as well. JH BAR Staff Observations :  Chelsea got stuck in traffic and ran 15 minutes late for her open. A well stocked bar from the close in lobby made it easy to roll into service. Great team on today with Gab, Chelsea, Eliel and Ian. JM Special Events? The Found Footage Festival screening in Theater 1 was a treat. It sold fairly well, and there was a small crowd afterwards at the bar checking out their merch table and getting one last round at Trees. JH Staff Meeting Agenda notes : At next week’s menu meeting, when we get to the bar portion, I would suggest including a quick review of how to navigate the glasswasher at Trees. There is still some confusion ...

Manager Communication:  Pretty slow day besides the Book launch so then everything was about the Book Launch!  Great night, great energy.  Customer Comments: Some of our regulars came in and saw the party and felt overwhelmed but I showed them the book at lobby bar and they said they would come back to buy books and were so happy for us.  BAR Staff Observations:  This team came to rock!  Ryan, Dylan, Jo, Ashley, They sleighed! I'm so happy to work with them.  Special Events?:  WE HAVE A BOOK!!!  Such a great party. You were all there.  Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Overstocking both bars!  I found a four quart container of Michelada at lobby bar, and I've been finding overstock at both bars.  Lobby bar cocktails are always older than Trees, so I'll make sure that before people stock up trees, I/They check to see if Lobby has too much of something or an older date.  Nick also mentioned that he continues to see overstocked Lim...

Eliel/Jenn 12.05

Manager Communication :  Decent opening, Not dead slow but not busy at all. Pretty good day overall. EL Dinner round was fairly busy for a Sunday, with the last round being much quieter by comparison. Fairly easygoing Sunday evening. JH BAR Staff Observations :  Natasha & Ryan had great opens. Isi and Tevon were solid mids. Openers were cut before the closers came. EL Tevon and Isi were able to get out right after the dinner push, and both cleaned a frozen machine and made sure each bar was stocked before they clocked out. Ashley and Ian made quick work of closing, helped along by the slow last round. Isi and Ashley had a lot of guest interactions at Trees during dinner that were all incredibly positive, it’s been really nice seeing such positive guest experiences during service.  Jenna was up at Trees closing with Ashley this evening.   During the initial service rush during the dinner round, Jenna was very involved with Isi serving bar guests, as the bar was fa...

Jesse/Jenn 12/5

Manager Communication: Really good first round for brunch, with The Holiday leading the charge with decent sales for open. Relatively mellow day, with decent theater crowds, particularly up in Theaters 4/6. JH Strong night tonight once we got through a slight dip in business for the second round. Once we hit the dinner and late rounds, things really surged. Lots of day of ticket sales and busy drink rushes to all theaters. 1/2/4/6 were tight again this week and gave Trees both a very busy bar from 6:30 pm through 10 pm and busy service ticket rushes during both showtimes. Gucci crowd drinks a ton! Very well handled today by all. JM Customer Comments: Had an elderly couple ask for a refund for a screening of C'mon C'mon in Theater 6, as the elevator was broken. They were pretty grumbly about the whole situation, and said they had traveled quite a far distance to get here and so would not be making use of any movie passes. The gentleman, in particular, was upset that we had not p...

Jesse / Eliel 12/3

Manager Communication: Friday started a little slow but shot up during the dinner round and kept good energy during the last round.  Trees lounge stayed populated with guests.  Customer Comments:  A group of guests returned to Trees Lounge because upon their first visit Ashley told them that they could just come without having to see a movie. She bought back a round for them. We might've made new regulars today.  BAR Staff Observations:  Great group today. Ryan and Chelsea had strong opens. Gabrielle and Ashley were great closers.  Ryan did great training Jenna, and does a really good job knowing what needs to get stocked and what needs to get done behind the bar, Ashley's really great with guests.  FOH Staff Observations: The runners are integrating nicely to running drinks. Hiring/Training: Jenna opened with Ryan at Trees for her first training shift.  She seemed to be getting the hang of things.  Jesse is going to follow up with her tomorr...

Jesse/Eliel 12/2

Manager Communication: Slow start to the day into a decent dinner round, most business focused on House of Gucci's dinner show. No issues with service, got some small bar crowds prior to Gucci and Spoons but otherwise an easy day.  (JM) We served the after Spoons crowd one round and did last call at 12:15.  We had a decent size spoons crowd before and after the show at Trees Lounge.  BAR Staff Observations: Gabrielle was steady downstairs and autonomous all shift. Tevon did a great open.(JM)  After spoons rush was done I cut Tevon.  I jumped to help Natasha two times but for the most part it was cool.  Sick Leave/ Call outs: Jenn had not gotten her PCR result yet and was still feeling rough, so I cut her. Ian was also under the weather due to his booster, so I also cut him since almost all of the business was concentrated to Gucci and the late round. Gabrielle worked a slow lobby solo and Tevon and Natasha worked Trees with no issues. (JM) Special Events? S...

Manager Communication: Slow day today, slow to start and slow to build on it. Cut opening bartenders by 6 pm and kept one on behind each bar with no issues or hiccups in service.  BAR Staff Observations: Great opens by Isi and Gab, Ian and Ashley had no issues with service solo. Prep List: Will need a Paloma keg tomorrow before the weekend, but otherwise well stocked Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Southern and Interior and Manhattan came today, Baldor tomorrow Maintenance: Shout out to Angelo and Juan who assembled our beautiful tables. That's all. Filmbot Issues: Gift card payments are working again!
