Saturday 01.04.25 Jenn/Lauren/Ian

Manager Communication:  Howl's Moving Castle started us off with a sold out Th1 and service was great (lots of tea and coffee).  Sales look similar for tomorrow, so definitely have three urns of coffee prepped before doors.  The Miyazaki crowd faithfully show up for our brunch screenings. JH I think the mezzanine sign is super helpful at establishing the boundary of age after 7pm.  Could we consider codifying the no people under 21 in Trees lounge after 7pm?  Is the entire building in retrograde, what a weird day.-LB Dang, we are ROCKIN'! Super busy night - almost everything sold out or close to it, and we went through a TON of product. We were well staffed behind the bar and the managerial presence was calm and easy - James and Jared were aces. Tomorrow is going to be precarious as far as our 86 list goes - I expect to run out of some of stuff - IP Customer Comments:  Had a party in the 11:45 Th5 Moana 2 who were very upset when I could not sell a ticket...

Friday 01.03.25 / Gus, Jenn, & Ariel / NPP Bar

Manager Communication:  There was a looooootttt of walk-in ticketing once we opened doors, which caused a lot of first round screenings to jump in crowd size and me to be basically glued to the Filmbot terminal until 3:30pm.  This has been a trend for the last few days, but should settle once we get past this weekend. JH I replaced the garnish Jars with new ones and placed the old ones in a box in the Liquor room above the tea's (labeled as "OG Garnish Jars") in case anything breaks so we have backups. - AB2 BAR Staff Observations:  Bryan and Tevon each handled very busy service passes solo during the first round without issue. JH Matthew, Bryan, and Patrick crushed it in Tree's! Gabrielle was great in Lobby solo and I had Tevon batching. - AB2 FOH Staff Observations:  First round was definitely a little overwhelming for the servers on the first floor, but they were all very supportive of each other and floor managers stepped in to assist where possible. JH...

Thursday 01.02 Jenn/Gus

Manager Communication:  First round was very busy on the first floor with Wicked and Babygirl almost sold out combined with the Mufasa theater swap.  All three theaters opened close in time to each other, and were also some of the first theaters open for the day.  But service went well, Gabrielle handled the rush for all three theaters, servers were able to support each other, and I handled a deluge of walk-in ticketing at Filmbot.  Second round was definitely a bit more mellow on the first floor by comparison. JH Customer Comments: There was a guy who was with a date who looked very young. Natasha ID'd them both- the date didn't have ID, but had it on her phone. The guy said that both the drinks were for him, but he let her "have some to try it." I intervened and he was very indignant, but said they were for him again and then went into the mez. I went up and the drink was right in front of her, but she wasn't drinking it. They then went into the movie. I have...

Wednesday 01.01.25 Jenn/Ian

Manager Communication:  Another busy holiday weekday, with plenty of the smaller theaters selling out before doors, and the big theaters not too far behind. Trees was pretty quiet in the morning, but filled up around 2:00pm. JH Seconded. Trees stayed busy all night, and service pass was a blitzkrieg. Bar team barely even broke a sweat. Dani and James were awesome tonight - they made service smooth and easy and allowed me to focus on product management and of course the service passes when needed. Thanks, guys! - IP Customer Comments:  Had some guests at Trees Lounge return their Espresso Martinis early this evening, saying that they 'didn't like them.'  They were pretty laidback about it. JH BAR Staff Observations:  Bryan and Maya really set both bars up for success with their closes last night, so Matthew and Tevon were able to focus on glassware and bare restocks to get the day started.  Tevon ran Lobby solo like a champ, and Matthew crushed the first round ru...

Tuesday 12.31.24 Jenn/Ian

Manager Communication: New Year's Rockin' Eve indeed. Jenn knocked out a ton of batching which was CLUTCH because that was not the end of batching! I put away all the cases in the liquor room (OF Rye is now in front of OF Bourbon, as requested!) and also the soda delivery which came around 7:00p, and when there was a moment to breathe at the Trees service pass I got to setting up product for tomorrow AM. - IP BAR Staff Observations:  Darius and Lydia opened both bars without issue, and sailed through the first round.  When Patrick got in for his midshift the bigger theaters had a bit of a lull, which gave both bars ample time to reset for the late round. JH The last round was positively HUMMIN', and everyone rose to the occasion. Maya has rehearsal during the week and her in time can be no earlier than 6:30 - this has been discussed and approved, but had not been updated on 7Shifts, therefore if it looks as though Maya clocked in late, that was not her error. Lydia absolute...

Monday 12/30/24 Gus/Lauren

Manager Communication: Strong team. Gil. Wyatt. Carly. Daniella. Lots of spirit. Lots of fight. It was really busy. Customers and tickets just kept coming, but so did we. Great communication. -GS So I fell down the stairs to Theater 5 service station when I went to reroute the printer back. I am uncertain if it was my general oafishness, my bell bottoms or the top step's friction tape being a little peeled back (someone should check on this). I am fine, likely will have some bruising but I am an expert faller as I have been this gifted my entire life. And fortunately my pants did not split open when I fell into a split, probably funny footage though.-LB Customer Comments: Some definite characters today.  *There was a group in Trees- Gore was the tab. They had a stroller and two scooters in between the bathroom and the elevator in Trees. This isn't near the first time they have been asked to put their stroller in the proper place, nor the first time they were hanging out past ch...

Sunday 12.29.24 Gus/Lauren

Manager Communication: There was some loud noises coming from mezzanine so I did a lap. There are a bunch of young looking folks, some with beers, some with empties.  Jeshua IDed the ones that bought drinks but as we don't have real oversight to the mezzanine I asked the kids without ID to leave. I told Nick and asked him to do a walk through ten minutes after I did. I am going to make a laminated sign for the mezz stairwell stating "No one under 21 permitted on mezzanine after 7pm." I think this will better protect our liquor license. I think having a mirror so the bar staff can see what goes on up there would also help. Bar staff have mentioned this in the blog over the past month repeatedly and some guidance or help would be appreciated. I hope I am not overstepping with this signage, but I do think it is an important situation to address.-LB The sign I made and posted is very shoddily attached to the framed information on the art organization. I am happy to make a per...
