Manager Communication: 

Smooth open from a building standpoint.

Second round was bopping on all three floors, with Th1 (6:00pm) + Th6 (6:15pm) + Th4 (6:30pm) all being sold out, or pretty close to it.  It was great for Sam to see what Trees can look like with a crowd and a very active service pass, and service went really smoothly. JH

BAR Staff Observations: 

Gabrielle and Jeshua opened very well today.

Busy, busy second round, so I had Matthew start his bartending shift up at Trees, since they had an earlier second round hit.  Matthew went down to lobby, where he and Jeshua knocked out some screenings, and then Jeshua was able to get out of here once lobby had done a restock.  I told Gabrielle to hold off on making a stock list for Trees, as I wanted Sam to shadow Natasha while she wrote it.  In the meantime, I had Garbrielle and Sam focus on restocking glassware.

Once Natasha got in, she and Sam did a big restock for Trees to prep for All the President's Men.  Natasha took lead on the service pass, with Sam working as extra hands for guests or the pass, and the drink rush was an absolute breeze.  Gabrielle got out of here once that initial service push settled, and Natasha gave Sam an overview of what to do to start pre-closing Trees once the last big theater service push is over.

Sam then closed lobby with Matthew, and then Trees with Natasha, doing the checkouts (with oversight from leads) for both bars.  Quiet wrap up once cash was in the office. JH

Hiring/Training: 

Sam had Day 3, closing Lobby (w/ Matthew) + Trees (w/ Natasha).  Natasha took the brunt of the training, so I had her fill out the notes in the binder.  A lot of the same notes about Sam being a capable bartender and very accepting of guidance and correction, which is always nice to hear.  Points to be reviewed in the coming training days would be more practice on the POS overall, including more practice with checkouts.  

Natasha also mentioned Sam would sometimes get distracted mid-task behind the bar, but that had more to do with so many areas of interest (stocking guests, service pass) than general distraction. I checked in with Sam as they were leaving and, though exhausted, they said they were feeling in a good spot finsihing the third day of training. JH

Sick Leave/ Call outs: 

None today, but Tevon let me know he wasn't feeling well so if that continues tomorrow, Gabrielle will open (or be here ASAP) and Jeshua will close lobby.

Staff Meeting Agenda notes: 

Unfortunately, neither the garbage in the liquor room nor in/outside the MOD office was taken out by any porters this evening.  I checked both bars, and all of their trash had been collected.  The trash/recycling in the liquor room was a build up from at least the beginning of the second round.  I only noticed it as I was doing my wrap up in the liquor room, so had to stay a little later to gather it all up and bring it outside.  I left the bar cart in the kitchen, by the bar mats, as it is definitely a little sticky from the trash transport and could use a quick wash before service tomorrow. JH

Prep List: 

Knocked out some FroCo, Iced Tea Concentrate, Lemonade, + Simple Syrup.  There was an empty Margarita keg left in the walk in, so I cleaned it and it is now chilling in the walk in. JH

Over/Short on Banks: 

Trees was $11 short, which was probably due to an accidental cash closeout that was never voided.  JH

Empire cancelled our order, but then showed up with 5 cases.

Maintenance: 

The lower part of the wall outside of the elevator maintenance closet in the mens bathroom in lobby has been taking quite a beating from the rollie cart we have for the bar mats at Trees.  It's a tight squeeze, but can be accomplished with some creative angling, but that portion of the wall is going to continue getting scraped up.  We may need to cover it up with some rubber to protect the paint from being scratched further.
