Manager Communication: 

It was a hot one.  I'm sure FOH Blog will go into more detail about the ac situation in Th1, but we are currently back to partial ac service in that theater (which is getting us back to the low eighties).  Not too much foot traffic coming in from the park, as it is an absolute scorcher today.  Toy Story 5 continues to sell really well, and outsold Minions a couple of times, so that drink special may be good to stick around for a minute. JH
I don't think an adequate shout out was given to IAN AND GUS WHO FIXED THE LOBBY BUBBLER!!!! -LB 

Jeshua as he is the man and the resident cleaner of all things. He didn't do his regular awesome cleaning last week when he couldn't see. The lobby lowboys have a bit of grossness. So I think whenever we decide to get on the team for cleanliness we should highlight standing water. But we should also have Dio blow out the lowboy's compressor whenever they come to do the ice machines.-LB
I spoke to Vlad, he is gonna work on the cocktail keg dunnage rack and cleaning under it with me. I might do this tomorrow if it is slow, since I won't be here on Wednesday.  It is the one part of the walk-in that didn't get abundantly clean, so I don't want to leave it undone. -LB

Customer Comments: 

For the Jaws screening, I was in lobby and was available for all guests who wanted to get an e-credit.  The majority of guests, while disappointed, were understanding of the situation.  A couple of groups even opted to hang out at Trees to watch the World Cup and then see a later movie. JH

BAR Staff Observations: 

Great crew today.  Positive attitudes from the jump.  I kept everyone apprised of the ac situation in Th1 throughout the day, and let them know to send any guests with questions or complaints to a manager.  Natasha + Greg really held down Trees solo until about 12:30pm, while I was stationed in lobby to dole out e-credits for guests who did not want to stick around in Th1 without ac.  Also, they were absolute glassware stocking phenoms, so we never had any back up. By the time Danny got in, Natasha had made a stock list, and Trees was ready to go for the later rounds.  Matthew held down lobby solo, and Dwight was a huge help with guests at Filmbot. JH

The bar team really owned their arena today. They didn't seem phased by the heat. It was slow for them. Great teamwork, positive attitudes.  Unsurprising, but worth noting.-LB

FOH Staff Observations: 

I just want to give shoutouts to servers who really held it down today, particularly in the first two rounds: Alex M. + Evan were absolute champions.  Caleb + Conner were also great during that first round in Th1. JH

On the flip side, man oh man do some servers let a difficult situation dominate their days.  Undoubtedly, we were shorthanded and busy, but I have been here for much more hectic shifts.  We were busy, not weeded, and it seems that a lot of servers cannot tell the difference between the two.  This negative attitude really colors interactions at the service pass and in the server stations, as well as how they communicate with management. JH

Additionally, I know this has been brought up before, but a lot of servers seem unable to greet guests and take orders in larger theaters without dedicated drink support.  I ran several 'forgotten' drinks to some stations, and every time was greeted with a station full of servers standing around. JH

I also went to grab roll ups from Theater 1 since the runners hadn't been making them for Trees and we needed some, since all the servers were on their phones, I felt no guilt in taking them.-LB

Jenn killed it on the catch up batching. I made sugar snap syrup and Summertime cooler since it got overlooked in the shuffle of the week-LB

Ordered a new ISI for Trees. the top broke, they are sharing the lobby one right now. We can  keep the parts and use them to clean and rotate the bottom part that isn't broken.-LB

Maintenance: 

Both bars started frozens off with about 4-6 quarts in them, and then slowly added more as the original amount froze.  Getting this started when they first clocked in had all frozens good to go by the time we got to doors. JH

This seems to be a keg-specific issue, but the Sauvignon Blanc keg that has been tapped since Thursday has been having issues keeping the bobbin afloat.  It only happens a couple of times a day, so it has not been overly disruptive, but it is odd. JH

Agree, this happened again, noticed the gas line to that keg is off, but that may be standard so I did not adjust it.-LB

There was a water leak under the lobby bar after Jeshua pulled a sink. We will keep an eye on it later. I do think an under the bar plumbing inspection is due since there is some strange water issues going on there that may all be related. *Update on this, which is fun, since Vlad was there with the mop, the drain was very clogged. Jeshua is going to clear it, but I will again remind Vlad that he needs to get on these drains.-LB

The storage well at Trees collapsed. The hanger part is bent. I am going to Juan's closet to try and bend it back into place, but I found replacements on Amazon. -LB

An older guest who was e-mailed about the ac issue yesterday had difficulty replying to us to get an e-credit, so when she came into the lobby today I gave her a $20.00 gift card and put it under manager comps.  JH

A group who used a BOGO code wanted to exchange their seats for another film, but that messes up the BOGO so I issued a pass to alleviate the discrepancy, if you see a pass issued and think it odd for a Saturday, that is why.-LB
