Manager Communication:
Opened up with Gus. Got everything prepped for the event this evening. Drink is batched and set at bars. Menus or the event are printed and in stands for Trees and on tables for the theater. Toast continues to settle in. Made "Schedule A" the Resident Evil cocktail and Conrad swung by to snap some photos.
Definitely seconding the earlier note about having a Trees Bar layout that the bar team will land on when they open up the POS. The team is continuing to compile missing buttons. Two that jumped out today were the $12 beer and burger special for Thursdays, and then a few odd liquors here and there (Ketel One, Casamigos). - IP
 
BAR Staff Observations:
Gab and Jeshua opened up. Jeshua doing a long lobby. Chill day, but gearing up for the film festival afterparty this evening. - IP

Natasha really led the way with troubleshooting any Toast issues during service, and was a welcome addition to the Tres closing team this evening.  Once the first film festival screening loaded in, Gabrielle was able to get out of her once she covered Jeshua for a break and got Trees restocked.  Jeshua held down lobby solo without issue, and Matthew + Natasha made quick work of the post-screening party. JH 

Hiring/Training: 
There were definitely a few grumpelstiltskins during service tonight, but they were by and large just growing pains with regards to transitioning to Toast.  Honestly, the majority of staff were fairly positive during the shift, albeit a bit unsure in areas that we are ironing out. JH

Sick Leave/ Call outs:
Greg Collins called out sick today. Natasha is coming in at 7p to help with the festival afterparty. - IP

Prep List:
Made a 100 count batch of "Atomic Watermelon" for the screenings and afterparty tonight. Made a single batch of "Schedule A" (the Resident Evil drink). We'll probably have to make one more batch tomorrow before the day gets going. - IP

Over/Short on Banks: 
Trees drop was a little wonky, but it appears like some cash transactions may not have been recorded or captured properly.  Our drop was over.  More details in FOH Blog. JH

Toast Notes:
I tried to list these in descending order of service priority:
  • Service Tickets:
    • Seat numbers on service tickets are very tiny.  Servers have needed to write the seat numbers by hand at the service pass on the top of tickets, which will be untenable when we are very busy.  Additionally, there is no separate line designating Theater.  Hopefully we can find a way to recreate how the top of drink tickets at the service pass were printed under MB. 
    • Toast will sometimes bundle together drink orders (e.g., 2 Coke instead of listing each Coke on a separate line), even if servers have rang them in individually.  Very easy to miss, so it would be helpful if we could find a way to prevent Toast from doing that.
    • Seat numbers seem to be a bit of an enigma.  Apparently there is a specific way that servers are noting it in theaters, but bartenders were putting the seat number on food orders under Special Requests and we had no food running issues this evening.
    • Can we have West Coast IPA print as Alternate Endings?
  • The process of closing out gift cards is fairly involved, and can hopefully be streamlined in the near future.  For the time being, I had bartenders print out the check (before closing) and then I took that and the gift card on a check presenter to the Th1 Filmbot.
  • Buttons:
    • Issues:
      • At the bar, one and ones require both a soda AND garnish selection.  Toast will not allow you to send the order unless you select a garnish.
    • Missing

    Saturday 11.22.25 Wicked Day 3 Jenn/Lauren

    Manager Communication:  Th1/2/3 were pretty much sold out for the day, with Wicked doing really well and Bugonia / Frankenstein taking up the smaller theaters.  Definitely a lot more kids coming through for Wicked this time, just as a heads up.  Sentimental Value is also selling out the smaller theaters, too.  Trees also had a group of runners (probably between 10-12 folks) hang out for drinks and brunch post-run.  A couple of more groups came through throughout the day and kept Trees happily busy during the early rounds. JH If we can change the temp on Trees lounge to 70 for this busy stretch, it gets really hot back there when they don't stop moving. -LB Wowie. everyone busting their butts today and I blame L.     Jesse Sunday 1.5

    Manager Communication:  Holiday level business keeps coming, we had a very busy day overall at the bar. Movies kept service bar going strong through 9 pm and then the bar stayed crowded with a group of people watching the Golden Globes. No issues with getting overly busy, however, as the push to service bar died right as the awards show started and a crowd grew at the bar. We were able to get all duties done tonight; batching, cleaning projects and strong service. The 4 pm rush was very heavy in particular, with Theatres 1, 4 and 6 very tightly seated but we never ran overlong on timing. Customer Comments:  We had a guest come to the bar around 4:30 to complain about some late food, which was dropped by a manager. Julie had a flag that she forget to ring until right before check drop and the guests complained about the wait, but were happy with our resolution of some passes and goodwill discounts on the check.     Manager Communication: Opened with Gil. Definitely the second to last Sunday in August type ticket sales to start the day - change of pace from the big Spidyssey weekends. Lovely weather outside with a chance of showers briefly - will hopefully bring some people in from the park. - IP BAR Staff Observations: Nat opening Trees, Greg opening Lobby. - IP.  Pretty smooth sailing through the dinner round.  Everyone grabbed family meal and got breaks, and Danny stuck around for both bars to get a post-dinner restock in.  The last round was pretty mellow saleswise, so both bars had ample time to get started on a deep clean pre-close to end the weekend.  Jeshua got out of here shortly after I rerouted lobby, and both Duan + Tevon closed each bar without issue.
