Manager Communication:
The light above the first landing up the stairs to Tress Lounge is out again, and this time I cannot get it to come back on. I jerry-rigged a scoop light (I pilfered from a box in the back of Juan's closet on the third floor) affixed to a high-top table at the window that overlooks the stairwell to shine at least a little bit of light on the stairs (until we can get that light back up and running). I put a "DO NOT TOUCH" label on the switch last time it was giving us problems, but someone on the closing team last night flipped both switches back off. If we can get the light back on, let's make sure to tape the switch in the ON position to avoid this snafu again. - IP
The main service iPad (attached to the drawer) at Trees has been damaged somehow. Today when Natasha opened the bank, she alerted me that something was messed up with the display. There is a streak of pixels that are flickering and shuddering across the middle third of the iPad, which to me indicates either water damage or it got flipped around and slammed on the bar and knocked something loose. The touchscreen was unaffected and so the ipad remains serviceable, but unsure for how long. Should look into finding a replacement or getting it fixed. - IP
*This is really weird, I did the money last night and the iPad was totally fine, so unsure how it got messed up overnight.-LB
As the day has gone on, the glitch has gotten fairly worse to look at. If we can swap this out with one that is not used as often somewhere else in the building.-LB
I ordered bottle covers and 4 replacement gaskets for the frozen drink tanks.-LB
There is a broken Trees stools on the landing for strollers, I suppose I can put it just in our dumpster, if there is an objection, lmk. I will do so tomorrow night.-LB

BAR Staff Observations:
Natasha took the reins on Sam's 4th and final day of training. He did great with some very heavy service pushes and definitely is getting the hang of the POS, and has had reps during brunch, opening round service, and dinner. Greg was a total fruit ninja and got Trees totally set on garnish while holding down the lobby and a busy box office. - IP (It is not his final day, he has one Tuesday-as Saturday was pushed)
I pushed Knibbs' in-time back to 4:30, and will likely be able to get openers out of here right when Knibbs and Jeshua get in. - IP
Knibbs held down lobby like a seasoned NH pro. Danny hung around til 10:30 since the weather delay filled up Trees lounge. Chill evening here at NPP.=LB
FOH Staff Observations: I comped a caramel popcorn to Theater 4 that never got there. I didn't go up to the theater and tell the servers so they weren't hawkish about it landing, but they had clocked it was good willed by me. Just something to note-LB
Hiring/Training:
Sam had his Day 4 train with Natasha - opening brunch at Trees. He handled some pretty busy service rushes and saw a decent pop for the Norway v Brazil game. Had him make a couple of Trees Special Cocktails before he left - definitely a confident, competent bartender who knows how to make a drink. Natasha filled out the training binder accordingly. - IP

Maintenance: I had Vlad bleach and mop the walls behind the cocktail kegs, the dunnage rack and under the cocktail kegs themselves, also the floor. I bleached the overflow water bottle for the kegs. The floor underneath the beer-wine kegs could use some TLC on a Wednesday open before a big beer delivery. I do think we should steam the seam of the wall along where the beer overflows when the water bottle is full.-LB
I tackled the 4/6 fridge gasket. I ended up taking it off because it was so caked. I soaked it in baking soda and bleach and ran it through the dishwasher twice. It has some residual staining but is very clean. This is definitely something to be kept clean. I do think it had mold before we lost AC up there but I would guess the mold probably took over in the last 6 weeks. I think that all of the service fridges in the stations should be thoroughly cleaned with bleach on the gaskets once a month. I don't think there is anyone doing maintenance on these areas and the bar department is not volunteering, however someone with a DOH card should be taking a look at these areas.-LB
