Manager Communication:
Jumping to the top so Ian knows right away. Soda system in lobby is a no-go. We will leave the labeled store and pours at Trees in a bus tub for lobby's opening service. If there was a way to route sodas only to Trees on MB that would be amazing, but likely not possible.-LB
The snow actually didn't deter too many guests today, and Trees was pretty busy once the first round movies began to let out. Never got too crazy, so we were fine with staffing behind the bar, but it was a decently active snowy Saturday morning. JH
A woman named Rebecca VanSambeck came out of the 3:55 Marty Supreme with a bloody lip. She had a small shard of glass in her Gansett. I assume that it was a shard from the bottom of another pint glass that got chipped when stacking or pulling glass with water suction. She was shaken but ultimately okay. I gave her some salt water to rinse her mouth with. I gave her a fresh beer and we comped her check. I also gave her passes since she missed a bunch of the movie. -LB
Scheduling note: I would have cut Nia today since she was working a double from DW to get us whole on this holiday weekend. I also thought it was our priority to make sure leads get to work. Patrick was upset that he was behind the bar and didn't get to see the text for two hours, so offering the cut to the first person is a little unfair. This may be less of an issue going forward with schedule changes, but I may bring closers in a little earlier to get the restocks for nighttime done before dinner rush. As is they are scheduled tightly to the movie schedule, so if we lose a mid and hands for restocks, we get a little behind the ball.-LB
It would be very helpful on busy Saturdays if we can teach runners stationed by the walk-in to change kegs. On that note, the EVT button on top won't pull beer through. -LB
The lobby soda compressor is broken. It started spewing water all over the wall. I unplugged, try to see the leak and plugged back in. It was so forceful it turned out all the lights switches on the wall. I let it rest for 30 and tried again. It is broken. I put in service request 35704223. If this is what has happened before it is strange no one wanted them to look at this or replace the compressor. I am soaking wet.-LB
BAR Staff Observations:
Gabrielle and Matthew set both bars up for brunch success, and sailed through opening without needing any restocks until we were well into the second round. Matthew was fantastic running lobby solo throughout the day, and Charlie immediately jumped into service once he got in at one. He and Gabrielle were great about switching between the service pass and guests, as well as getting out on the floor to bus tables.
The only service note I had for today is an old fan favorite: restocking glassware behind Trees. As the second round Th2 screening was hitting the peak of its initial service push, Charlie and Gabrielle let me know that they were getting low on glass pints, and I pointed out that they had about 12-13 full glassracks of clean glasses that had yet to be restocked. Ultimately, service was not negatively impacted, bartenders just had to multitask during the rest of the service push. It really highlighted for me just how on top of continuously restocking glassware some of our bartenders are, in comparison to others. We have mentioned this a few times in our weekly emails, but I'll mention it again this week. JH
I was also told they needed clean glassware when there was a stack as tall as me on the dirty dolly. I pointed out the tower of clean glassware and Charlie grabbed what they needed. They will have to learn how to manage these things better as our attention will be wherever it is needed on any given day.-LB
Nia was putting away glassware today but she doesn't have the ability to notice when customers need help. Saturdays with 6 bartenders is very challenging when anything else requires the bar managers attention. We just need more hands. Or capable hands. Jeshua was in need of assistance which he refused from Jared, but then I was called down to come find the soda system spewing club soda all over the wall and light switches. So I couldn't help him through the rush because I had to go get soda from Trees to bring to him to serve at lobby bar.-LB
I staff perked Patrick tonight since he held down the service for Trees.
Sick Leave/ Call outs: Natasha was given the cut last night.-LB
Jeshua did not feel well after the last screening. I cut his shift tomorrow and moved folks around as we can definitely run service with one less person. -LB
Special Events?
Staff Meeting Agenda notes: I think if staff want to use a token to pay they need to give the token directly to a manager. I took a token earlier tonight and I knew it was in the register, then another one was allegedly given to a bar staff member. I am not interested in accusing people of staff token arbitrage. But it could be something worth considering. -LB
86ed / counts on items: Stout
Prep List:
Over/Short on Banks: $2 Trees

86ed / counts on items: Stout
Prep List:
Batched a little bit of everything (FWWM + Frozen Coke + Holy Mountain + Lemonade + Simple Syrup). We need to make some more Arbol Tequila, but we should be good on FWWM for the time being. JH
I made a double batch of peace and Respite. We sold 28*** magic number. So I added 32, since when Gus batched Wed there wasn't a button. Hopefully the count is correct now. -LB
Made Arbol tequila, bamboo lounge, greed is good-LB
We made need more Dream Big. -LB
Over/Short on Banks: $2 Trees
Pay Outs:
$11.13 (strawberries+bananas)
$200.00 (employee loan) JH
Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: We had 4 gallons of OJ from US foods that was the kitchen's. I brought it down to them. -LB

I put in for a new set of fruit peelers and a new bar binder.-LB
Small US foods order for Monday. 4 boxes soda 1 case lime. -LB
Maintenance: EVT draft line very stubborn like Three's. -LB

Compressor at lobby totally Fed. -LB
Mobilebytes Issues: There is no option to add a veggie patty to a house salad. I used the impossible button and radioed kitchen. It feels like there is an option to add bacon and meat to everything, I am sure that the ability to add buffalo cauliflower would be a welcome option on the same things that get crispy chicken.

Mobilebytes was doing the non-processing thing it did last weekend with tabs. I just asked the customer for their card to close them out. But perhaps we can transition to a new POS that has less issues for managers to be on top of during service. But in the meantime we can start tabs with cards for organizational purposes, and if this processing error occurs you can just take their card at that time.-LB
A last thought, I spent a bit of time helping bar enter tips, if we have a system that the customer checks out, it could save some time on the back end.-LB
Filmbot Issues: This is mainly for the computer in the lobby. I had to look up the tickets for the person who got the glass and the laptop in the lobby is not working. It is normally very slow, it needs some attention.-LB
