Sunday 12.28.25 Jenn/Ian
Manager Communication:
Jenn is an absolute BOSS. Handled a crazy busy morning and got me up to speed (AND managed to keep our drinks stocked up). The handoff was seamless thanks to her - much appreciated, as it continued to be a busy one! - IP

BAR Staff Observations:
Natasha was an absolute champ down in lobby today, working solo until everyone had a chance to grab family meal. Greg and Nia held down Trees, but there were definitely some bumps in the road, particularly when both the bar and service pass were busy. In general, some opening bartenders are still not getting ahead of unloading glassware during their open/first round, even when prompted by a manager once doors are open. I will include a note in this week's email about the importance of not leaving mega stacks lingering until the second round begins.
Greg absolutely bodied sold out service pass rushes solo, and Nia is definitely getting better but she can still be more than a little disorganized when fulfilling tickets at the pass. However, this was really only an issue when she was solo, when I was expo'ing she was quick to knock out all the orders. I did receive a complaint from a server that they waited an inordinate amount of time for some drink tickets while Nia was solo at Trees (Greg was on a break), and that she had been chatting with staff at the bar while the server waited at the pass. She really is on top of greeting and serving guests, and has a great attitude, so she may just need to be reminded to keep her head on a swivel when rocking Trees solo.
We were definitely spread a little thin until closers got in, as theaters were very busy throughout the building and Trees had a pretty healthy crowd chilling and drinking once the second round began. Pushing Nia's in-time back an hour was great, but why was Patrick cut? The shift was just deleted from 7Shifts, so I'm unsure if he called out or if we cut him from the day. I would like to discuss the protocol for preemptive cuts at this week's bar manager meeting. JH
Just to add to this week's meeting - would like to discuss some Trees Lounge specific protocol. - IP
The absence of the second mid was definitely not ideal today, but fortunately Jeshua wore his Superman cape to work. As the only mid, Nia had to pull a long shift. It was a very busy day with a lot of foot traffic at Trees. She did her best to keep up, but Jeshua really had to shoulder a good deal of the load. Everything went smoothly all things considered, and I am proud of the bar team on the whole for being able to roll with the punches. Charlie has really come into his own. He thrives when he has more responsibility. I think it's great that he defers to the leads and his peers who have more experience, but I think we can encourage him to be more proactive when he does have the support of a seasoned team behind him - he knows what needs to be done, and should stop waiting for permission or instruction. - IP

Pay Outs:
There was very little pre-bussing done for the first round Th2 screening. Credits ended at 1:30pm, but we didn't receive any glassracks at Trees until 1:55pm. When they did arrive, it was 9 grey racks and 5 water racks, which is a hefty amount to get all at once. This, combined with the glass stocking issue I noted above, was just a perfect storm that ended with absolute mountains of clean glassware in racks. If we could please include a brief reminder in this week's service emails about the importance of not only pre-bussing, but also trying to run glassracks to Trees before they pile up. JH
Sick Leave/ Call outs:
No second mid today. - IP
Staff Meeting Agenda notes:
Staff Meeting Agenda notes:
The counts for both drink specials were off by about 40~ drinks each. I didn't realize the discrepancy until just before 4, when we had less than ten servings of each special between both bars combined. I made double batches of each, with one batch each going to the walk in and then splitting the others between both bars. Based on the number, it looks like maybe the count was mis-entered by a batch, since each batch makes about fifty drinks. Just something to keep an eye on. JH
86ed / counts on items:
86 Strega (needed for Dream Big batch) JH
Prep List:
Prep List:
Horchata was strained. Made double batches of the following: Dream Big + Frozen Coke + I Am the Fire. JH
Made Holy Mountain and more lemonades. Wrote a prep list for Tevon on the white board. It is basically all of the kegs: OF, Collins, Marg, Manhattan, Negroni. Everything else looks pretty set - unless there are any syrups that we run out of after the batching. - IP
Pay Outs:
$19.96 (eggs) JH
