Manager Communication: I bleached a sink stopper from the dollies for us to use in bar prep when we need to fill a sink with water for deep cleaning etc. I wrote on it, try to keep it there and clean.-LB

Confirmed with trivia hosts Jan 6th, Jan 20th, Feb 3rd, Feb 17th for 2026. Did not see an event calendar for next year on the drive. -LB

Election Day Trivia was fine. Pretty slow all around, but Trivia still demands a lot of attention - the team worked it well, despite Val not being super knowledgeable - but, not a concern anymore! Happy Trails, Val! - IP

Touched base with Edgar, Ariel and Gus and will continue troubleshooting our coffee not being delicious. Did a taste test with coffee with fairly even preference distribution. Ariel, Edgar and I will make sure that we get the grinder cleaned out and we will taste test some other beans with Hometown. Excited to improve this beverage.-LB

BAR Staff Observations: 

Well, I am unenthusiastic to announce Val found another job that let her work in the boot and it is a better fit for her. She will work trivia and that is it. Gus and I will work on covering her shifts and take stock of what we need staff-wise tomorrow.-LB

Trivia was a real snoozer. Tevon and Val handled it and Nat was great on the floor as always. Rocked the Suite 55 as the Trivia Special and did happy hour specials for anyone with an "I VOTED" sticker. Greg had little to worry about in the lobby, aside from the crowd from the shorts screening, who decided to turn the lobby into a photography studio, lol. They were hanging out because Trees was full-ish for Trivia. Then he stuck around after closing lobby to help Val with the Trees close, as I am unsure if she had ever even closed Trees in her brief tenure. Very grateful for Tevon, Greg and Natasha. - IP

Special Events?

Sleepy trivia, as noted above - however, the next Trivia (11/18) is going to be co-hosted by the guys who do the "Blank Check" podcast - which is extremely popular. They are announcing it to their Patreon subscribers (in addition the the Trivia social media and word of mouth), so Shay believes this is going to be easily the most well-attended Trivia to date. I have worked a majority of the Trivia nights we have hosted over the years, and when it is extremely busy, it becomes wildly difficult to successfully navigate the floor for the server and runners. In the past we have not had to really worry about capacity, or capping the crowd at a certain point, but the way Shay was talking about this one, I think we need to not only consider it, but make a game plan addressing any and all contingencies. Moreover, I think it would be prudent to staff an extra bartender that night who can come in as a second closer for Trivia, rather than relying on the Trees opener to stick around (as that person, usually Tevon, regularly pulls a 9+ hour shift on Trivia Tuesdays). Will bring this up at our next bar meeting. - IP

Jenn, could you mention in the bar blog that when you exit the walk-in just make sure that the door is closed behind you - the new latch is working well, but the door doesn't swing all the way closed to catch it sometimes - so they just need to make sure to give it a push to help it along. - IP

Filmbot Issues:

Not really an issue, just an FYI - don't know if something got changed or updated, but now instead of a button on the home screen of Filmbot that says "MORE" to jump to the next page of movie offerings, you just scroll the page of movies down, and the other options are underneath them. Everyone may already know this, but tonight it took me a minute to help Greg find where the tab for "The Color Purple" was, and maybe Jenn, you could put a note in the bar email about it?
