Manager Communication: 

In the future I think some sort of compostable drinkware would be helpful for this event. It is too hard to bus. -LB

Moesha (spelling is wrong) has a dog sitting on her lap during the party at Trees. Still very illegal. -LB

Lauren and Desmond share game ball tonight. Lauren stuck around WAYYYY later than anticipated (as it was an absolute madhouse from 9:30 all the way through midnight) and we couldn't have gotten through it without her handling the service pass when needed and batching stuff we were running out of. I shook off the rust and got behind the stick from about 9:30-11:30 - just like ridin' a bike! Desmond was a dream handling the more particular Newfest staff. More on that below! - IP

BAR Staff Observations: 

We have some hardworking bartenders. Big ups to Ian for handling a massive bar onslaught.-LB

Greg came up right when we rerouted the lobby to help with the last hour of the party - absolutely smashed it. Jumped right in and got his bearings immediately and got us over the finish line. Great work all around. - IP

FOH Staff Observations: 

Rebecca and Sarah can be our wing-servers any day-LB

Absolutely phenomenal work by Rebecca and Sarah. Legit - any time we have a 150+ guest party - at least one server on the floor to help with glass circulation/tidiness. - IP

Special Events? 

NEWFEST films & Queer Media Mixer

Bloodbath. Good lord they were thirsty. Had to re-up on the Peach OF and the Apricot Gin Newfest Cocktail before 11:00 - would be wise to batch at least the same amount for T4T mixer on Thursday. 

One note I have for Newfest events going forward (that I know was brought up last year, but I'll just keep bringing it up!) - if there is an event that draws a crowd that includes people under 21 Newfest needs to start denoting that for the guests with wristbands or handstamps or something - these parties are a constant three-deep at the bar, no time to stop and think type things, and if we could remove the extra second the bartenders have to take to think about carding someone, that would make their lives infinitely easier (and isn't a big lift on the Newfest folks.)

Secondly, I know they're here annually, but they really stretch the bounds of being a guest in our space. They have a rather huffy attitude when we won't break or bend rules for them - they also have made our bar storage closet a dirty hamper of a space, with bags and jackets and stuff strewn about. If they could just be a little more discerning about how they are leaving our spaces, that we need for our day to day service, that isn't just Newfest, that would be awesome. I have some other points, but that's the main one. - IP
