Tonight felt a lot slower than it actually was. A bunch of theaters were very well sold but 1 & 2 were mediocre at best, so everything was relaxed. - IP

Customer Comments:

A guest at Trees was being exceptionally rude while sitting at the bar - having a FaceTime conversation at the bar that was disrupting everyone sitting around them. Lydia very politely requested they put in headphones or take the conversation somewhere a little more private - and, after a lot of aggresive hemming and hawing (for which more than three other guests independently admonished her), she said loudly to the person on the call "I gotta hang up now - this they/them is all up in my as****le." It rattled Lydia because this person (who arrived already clearly intoxicated) was just unabashedly aggressive and rude to them for the entire brief encounter, when all Lydia was trying to do was politely ask them to move their very loud conversation elsewhere. We declined to serve them any alcohol, and are trying to locate their information in order to put them on the automated warning list. - IP

BAR Staff Observations: 

Greg's early midshift, coupled with a fairly mellow opening round, allowed me to pull Matthew to get some batching done earlier than anticipated, which left the walk-in prepped and ready for the later rounds.  Once Charlie got in, both bars did a restock, and then Natasha took the first cut while Matthew held down Lobby and Charlie & Greg covered Trees.  Great team, lots of seamless transitions, and excellent communication, they make weekends look easy. JH

Agreed on all fronts. Team was great tonight. Greg and Matthew got out of here right after family meal, and then Charlie followed suit a couple hours later. Gab and Lydia held down Trees and Jeshua made light work of a chill lobby. - IP

We are out of Muyu, so Matthew was unable to make a Rebel keg.  The keg in service was only tapped yesterday, so we definitely have a minute before we need a backup keg.  As we are approaching menu change, do we want to see if NWB has any stock we can take off their hands? JH

Prep List: 

Matthew knocked out a bunch of batching in record time this afternoon: Negroni & Old Fashioned kegs, FWWM, FroCo, Hinokami, & Lemonade. JH

I made a half batch of Hinokami at EOD and now we are out of the super Yuzu - we'll need to order more to keep up, this drink is a real ripper! - IP

Maintenance: 

The FroCo tumbler closest to the service pass at Trees was giving us some issues this morning.  Before doors it had overfrozen to such an extreme that all the syrup was at the bottom and all ice was white/clear.  We let it defrost a bit and then switched it back to slush, and it seemed to do well, and was service-ready by the second round.  However, about an hour later Greg let me know the same issue had occurred and was actually pushing the lid off.  

I emptied (and tossed) the product inside the tumbler, and gave it quick clean before putting it in standby mode.  It is unclear if it is a mechanical error or batch error, so Ian will give it a look sometime tonight if he has time, or we can tackle it tomorrow.  My hypothesis is that this may have been a batch where someone used FroCo instead of Coke Syrup when batching, which resulted in an ultra-diluted batch which threw off the brix causing it to over freeze.  My line of thinking is that this is the opposite of what happened when undiluted Coke Syrup was put in the tumbler, not any confirmed evidence. JH

Will try to take a closer look at the frozen machine tomorrow, but sales are low and the tumbler at the far end of the bar is operational, so we can roll with that til we get the finicky one situated. - IP

1 - a "Pilsner Glass" mod for Tecate/Miller/High Noon/Del's

2 - an "Ice Only" mod for the water button
