Manager Communication:
The people want to see Deadpool and have been lining up in front of the gate before we open for the last three days.  Had the Olympics on at Trees Lounge today, and that definitely helped Trees nurse a post-movie crowd once the second round big theaters let out.  American Tail and The Sting both did well, with Deadpool leading the pack.  Twisters is consistently selling out its smaller theaters, and Despicable Me also got pretty busy in its earlier screenings. JH

I found 36 bottles of High Life in the liquor room so I had Darius stock everything to Trees and Lobby. AB2

We ran through all of our Tepache and are now rocking Ginger Ale for the Deadpool special. AB2

We have a keg of the N/A Spritz but need to charge it tomorrow. AB2

Customer Comments:
This ladies card got lost in TH1 at seat 1819. I spoke with her briefly because she was in a rush. I got her name, number and email so we can contact her. Jared has more in the FOH blog because home girl was a bit of a trip. AB2

BAR Staff Observations:
Really hyped on how the crew worked together today. Lydia rocked the pass and killed it with Darius having hands and Jeshua taking care of guests. Gabrielle killed it solo in the Lobby so I was able to be more present at the pass in Tree's. AB2

Darius stayed late with me to batch some things and it was very much appreciated. AB2

FOH Staff Observations:
Markenson did such a fantastic job cleaning the Trees bathrooms before doors today.  I know we had recently mentioned having pre-open porters pay a bit more attention to bathrooms before we open, so figured I would mention it.  I honestly don't think I've ever seen the sinks so bright and clean, and made sure to let him know.

Hiring/Training:
Nicole took the lead on opening up Trees Lounge today, and was fairly comfortable with setting up the service pass with regards to garnishes and tools.  She is definitely eager to step out from behind the bar jump into manager training, and she appears to have a good handle on menu knowledge and preparation. JH

For the second round seating of Th1/2, Nicole was able to step out from behind the bar and expo drinks for the first thirty minutes.  Natasha, Ian, and Lydia were all at Trees, and I was nearby washing glassware and getting ice, so she wasn't just set out adrift.  She did fairly well, needs to work on organization and the order of calling, but did really well for a first try.  I slid in once Th2 began seating, and walked her through the process a bit more thoroughly. JH

Special Events?
Projection put the Olympics on at Trees Lounge, so we stayed steady with that during service today.  The coverage is pretty universal and nonstop, so guests were pleased with the choice. JH

86ed / counts on items:
Tecate is on a count.  MHL may go on a count before the end of the weekend, so keep an eye on stock levels behind both bars. JH

We are 86'd Blood Orange Juice and do not have enough Cherry Luxardo so I was unable to batch Tornado Wrangler. AB2

86 Carpano Dry Vermouth so we could not batch Mr. Downstairs. AB2

Over/Short on Banks: Trees Bank was under $16.00 due to Pay Outs. AB2

Pay Outs:
$6.65 (Pineapple) JH
$37.00 (Manhattan Delivery - Cash Payment) JH
$10.41 5200 - FOOD AB2
$250.00 7150 - MISC AB2

Ordering/Receiving/Shipping:
Manhattan delivered our order before we opened.  However, when they were about to leave I was told that our account had been reported to the SLA for non-payment, so Manhattan was expecting payment on delivery.  This is the first I had heard of it, and the driver spoke to his supervisor who okayed them leaving the delivery with us.

Dana was able to track down the invoice, which is from a Union delivery on July 2nd.  The invoice in question is #269696, which I sent to Billing on July 5th.  Both myself and Dana have reached out to our rep, and his supervisor, to figure out what is going on, but have yet to hear back from them.  Dana also spoke with our rep at Manhattan about the delayed delivery. JH

1:30pm Update: Manhattan returned and said that due to the flag on our account, they had to take back the delivery if we could not pay right away.  I did a payout ($37.00) for the cases of Miller High Life that we had already stocked behind the bar, and they took the rest of the product away.  This was after Matt, our Manhattan rep, had told Dana they would not be taking back product today.  I left another message with our Union rep, who is still MIA, and then left a message on the direct line for Union for someone to call me back ASAP to sort this out.  Again, the invoice that was flagged for non-payment by Union appears to have gone through fine on our end, so myself and Dana are really at a loss as to what is going on. JH

Maintenance:
The drain under the sink at the Trees glasswasher got blocked up with some labeling tape this afternoon, but it was luckily caught before it turned the area into a wetland.  Vlad was quick to get down and clear and clean the drain, and I will be sure to send out a reminder to all bartenders in this week's email to make sure we are removing all labels from containers before running them through the glasswasher. JH

Diet coke is leaking in Lobby bar on the TH3 side. It is just dripping into the ice. It is little at a time so it is manageable but definitely something to fix. I took a look to see if there was anything I can do or if I could tighten the little nut but was unable to. Added to Maintenance Doc... AB2
