Manager Communication: Pretty slow start to the day at both bars with minimal amounts of walk in traffic for the first round. Lee did notice a problem with the hot water while he was opening. More on that in the maintenance portion of the blog. EA

Trees was packed from a little bit before seven, all the way through eleven.  Trivia had a bunch of new faces and ordered a ton throughout, and the same can be said for the dinner round M3GAN crowd in Th2 and the late round The Shining in Th1. JH

BAR Staff Observations: Slow open for both Eliel and Lee so they were able to get prep done for the trivia and dinner. Trivia filled out completely with a bunch of new faces/teams. Eliel was a champ on the floor while Lee and Tevon held it down behind the bar. EA

Service at Trees was pretty much non-stop from 7:30 until the first service push from The Shining was through, so about 9:45/10:00.  With Eliel on the floor for Trivia, they were able to run back and grab any back ups as necessary, or communicate garnish needs to Miguel down at Lobby.  I took the brunt of service at the pass, as Trivia was so busy Tevon and Lee were never short on guests at the bar looking to order.  Tevon provided service bar assistance, and Lee was very on top of jumping in when he had a moment.

For being so busy, service was very smooth, keeping up with the theme of the holiday weekend just passed.  A lot of good communication and reminding bartenders to keep eyes on stock levels throughout those service crunches.  Miguel really did a solid job downstairs at Lobby solo, and was very helpful with keeping Trees stocked with garnishes when needed.  

Once Trees was reset post-Trivia, Eliel was able to get out of here.  Lee stuck around to give Tevon a head start on pre-closing, and was gone shortly after. JH

FOH Staff Observations: Michael was a huge help for the first round of Trivia, and ran a bunch of drink trays out onto the floor.  He wasn't even asked, he just had the time and offered to pitch in.  As this was around when a very-sold M3GAN screening was seating, it was a massive help, so I gave him a token.  

When I got to Trees after midnight to grab the cash drop, I noticed that the dirty glassracks were stacked ten high.  I had caught Trees up on glassware around eleven, so the majority of these probably came from Th1 cleaning.  Can we please remind servers working the later rounds to bring glassracks to kitchen, so as not to overload the closing bartender.  I ran them through the glasswasher at Trees, as I didn't want to drop them all of in the kitchen so late. JH

Special Events? All remaining Hibiscus Syrup, premixed Hibiscus Lime, and Denizen 8yr have all been brought to the back. JH

Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Due to the boiler situation, once we have hot water back, all glassracks should be rewashed.  Additionally, all items left in the sinks at Bar Prep and by the glasswasher at Trees need to be rewashed.  Be sure to let bartenders know to keep an eye out for any glassware that is already stocked behind the bar that may be in need of being washed again. JH

Prep List: A backup of Christmas with the Kranks should be made tomorrow.  Once Eliel got us caught up on batching before Trivia, we did not batch anything else as we had already amassed hefty amount of stuff to wash. JH

Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: US Foods tomorrow. JH

Maintenance: Lee noticed that there was no hot water while opening Trees today. After going to investigate in the hot water heater closet, I was unable to successfully restart the boiler. I tried to further turn it off and purge the system with Juan and refill it with again no positive results. Juan reached out to Jimmy (Our plumber) and Matthew to further troubleshoot it so they are aware of the situation. EA

The vent above the glasswasher at Trees is in sore need of a cleaning. JH

Filmbot Issues: The card reader at Filmbot went down around 6:30pm, but was able to be reset by unplugging it and plugging it back in.  No further issues during service. JH
