Manager Communication: Steady service, with some of the smaller theaters selling out, or coming very close to it throughout the evening.  Thor has definitely mellowed out with regards to crowds, but still brings in a great pre-movie group to Trees during the afternoon and earlier evening screenings.  JH

Customer Comments: Had a few customer interactions of note at both bars today.

Ashley helped a couple who bought seven tickets for the 7:00pm Thor screening from Ashley around 4:30pm.  Throughout the interaction, Ashley reiterated our age policy several times with regards to children.  After the tickets had printed, they let Ashley know that they were planning to bring their two-year-old and that the child would sit on their mother's lap.  Ashley reminded them of the age policy she had just explained, and that the baby would not be allowed in the theater, and they asked to speak to a manager.

I reiterated the age policy and they said that the majority of the guests were from outside of the city and they would not be able to return at a later date.  Since the transaction had only just finished, and there was still plenty of time before the screening, I gave them a full refund so they could leave.  

Around 8:00, Ian had a guest who told him that she thought he was a very bad bartender and that she felt that he had been ignoring her.  Ian apologized if he had made her feel that way, but she cut him off, put her finger in his face, and said she did not want his apology.  At this point, Ian took a quick break from behind the bar, with Jenna staying behind, and the guest left with her friend shortly thereafter.  

I spoke to Ian about the interaction, and he said he had not been intentionally ignoring her and that she still had a half-full drink in front of her when she flagged him down.  Additionally, a couple at the end of the bar let Ian know that after he left, the guest's companion had complained about her always acting like that when she drank, and they both left.

On the positive side of interactions, Ashley had a guest at Lobby who let her know it was her first time returning to the building since it was The Pavilion.  She mentioned that she had come here a lot with her mother growing up, so Ashley had Danny comp a popcorn from her movie check.  After the film she graciously thanked Ashley, and then went up to Trees and had a lovely conversation with Tevon.  She left beaming, and thanked me and the rest of the staff for being so lovely. JH

BAR Staff Observations: Held onto Ashley until Darius came in to close Lobby, as today was Lee's first live shift.  She was happy to stay, and remarked that Lee was really settling into service in a great way.  Lee and Darius were great at Lobby Bar all evening, and Lee volunteered to do the majority of restock runs so that he could get more acquainted with the building's layout as well as the bar prep area.  Lee got out of here around eight, and Darius held down Lobby solo without issue for the rest of the evening.

Tevon got out of here shortly after Ian arrived, and Jenna and Ian held down a pretty steady, but chill, Trees Lounge.  Once the last round began to seat, I had Ian do some light batching in the back, and Jenna was able to get out of here shortly after ten.  Trees emptied out shortly after the last few screenings sat, and Ian slid into an easy close.  JH

Prep List: Ian made Mr. Fusion and strained the Strawberry Gin.

Earl Grey Pink Peppercorn Syrup, Graceland, and Grenadine should be made tomorrow.  We are waiting on Strega to make more Viking Space Magic, but we should have enough to get through service for a while longer.  JH
