Manager Communication: Pretty steady opening round for a Saturday morning, and ticket sales climbed throughout the day, with several theaters selling out, or coming close to it, for the dinner rounds.  The Brunch Club brought a nice early crowd to Trees, with Eliel rocking it solo. JH

Once the afternoon and dinner rounds hit, we were consistently busy all night. Especially with the dinner round, we hit a pace of drink tickets that lasted almost two hours. We also got consistent Trees business. It was a real crushing shift, but not in a bad way. The bartenders were just busy the entire time on both floors through 9:30 pm without much a respite. I was able to support here and there, but for the most part there was no need and everyone did an excellent job. JM

BAR Staff Observations: Chelsea and Andrea swapped floors this morning, after Chelsea pulled a long Lobby shift last night.  Darius trained with Chelsea as she opened Lobby Bar and got through the early rounds, with Andrea handling a Trees open no problem.  Once Jenna and Ashley arrived, I had Andrea return to Lobby, Darius went up to Trees, and Chelsea completed a hefty restock before heading out.  Both duos navigated the afternoon crowd and rising ticket sales without issue. JH

Ian and Ashley were rockstars upstairs tonight, having no issues balancing the guests and service and calling for support when needed, whether for glassware or service assistance. Jenna swung up to cover while Ashley did a huge batch and then was cut, with Ashley getting cut after covering while Ian stocked. JM

FOH Staff Observations: Gil and Sarah were also involved in this, but John the new server was upset with an exception made to allow some 12 year olds into a 6:45 pm movie, especially once those two kids were disruptive. They were reprimanded and then tried to leave without paying, and John caught them and we waited for them to pay before allowing them to leave. He did the core of things right, making sure to ascertain payment, but the manner in which he did it and then loudly complained about it at the bar and to his coworkers was a bad look. He eventually cooled off, spoke to Gil about it and apologized to a few coworkers he was short with. JM

Hiring/Training: Darius completed his fourth day of training, starting with opening Lobby with Chelsea and then swinging upstairs to Trees once Ashley arrived.  We reviewed everything on the checklists from the last four shifts of training, and the one area Darius said he would like to review was another training shift opening Trees (or just to have a Bar Manager or bartender to walk him through a Trees opening).  I had Chelsea write her notes in the binder before she left, and will have Ashley write her notes from last night and today. JH

Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Still having issues with staff taking grey rollies away from Trees, when they are very much needed. JH

86ed / counts on items: 86'd Pinot Gris.  Phony Negroni is on a count. JH

We did eventually 86 the phone negroni tonight. JM

Prep List: I made Hibiscus and Simple Syrups. JH

Ashley made Old Fashioned, Mansion, Fusion, Firewalk, Strawberry Lemonade and Lemonade. JM

Pay Outs: $3 (Rose for garnish). JH
