Manager Communication: Ticket sales climbed steadily through the day, following a nicely busy first round. The weather certainly didn’t deter people from coming in, and a nice crowd had developed at Trees by the time the third round of movies were seating. JH

Every Batman from the middle of the day onwards was completely sold out, and trhe surrounding movies also did well with almost every theater sold out for the dinner round and a strong late round as well. Drink rushes during this period felt like they held at a busy level for almost three hours, with guests ordering more today than any day in recent memory.

The weather also kept Trees Lounge guests in and hunkered down, and throughout this time we also had a full bar through around 8:30-9:00 pm. A few tables lingered late. We are starting to develop regulars, as I saw several repeat offenders here that have been coming by all week. We bought back some drinks and had great rapport.

Was able to cut Jenna after 9:30 when sold out Batman finished, Tevon by around 9:00 pm since the last Batman rush had settled by then. He did three stocks to get the bar up to par. JM

Customer Comments: Also in the FOH blog, but I dealt with a couple in Theater 2 that had purchased one seat and two of them were seated. The guest who had purchased the other seat was leaning in the back of the theater with nowhere to sit. The woman was antagonistic to Amanda when she explained that they only had one ticket, so I went in with Dwight and told her that the other seat was sold and they only had one ticket, so they could not both watch the movie. Her partner was next to her and on crutches and she was confused and confrontational when I explained that she only bought one seat. She said that me asking them to honor the other guest's ticket and not just let them both sit there was "bad customer service". I told her that even worse customer service would be turning down someone who paid for a seat, and I cannot allow them to keep both seats. She said that the website was unclear, and I said I wasn't sure where it would seem that buying one ticket entitles anyone to two seats. Her partner at this point cut in, said they would leave and they got up and left. Jason refunded the one ticket and the guests left and the other gentleman took his seat and thanked me.

BAR Staff Observations: Jo and Chelsea both did excellent jobs opening both bars, which Chelsea taking a mother sold out first round seating solo at Trees, and with Jo being a major help peeping garnishes.  Both were able to take breaks once their mids arrived. Chelsea stayed through some later screenings of Batman as the crowd at Trees grew, and Jo was also a huge help doing a fair amount of batching.

Having Tevon come in right before the second Batman screening was a huge help, as we were able to quickly restock and keep service moving. Similarly, Jenna was great at holding down Lobby while Jo was batching.

This is becoming a trend, but I have noticed that bartenders are being much more proactive about watching the levels on frozen cocktails and communicating clearly with each other about what tasks do and do not need to be prioritized when the bar gets busy. JH

Tevon held down guest facing bar while Ian and Ryan navigated the seemingly endless dinner rush. Honestly sounding like a broken record at this point but truly the staff is so effective at these rushes and the level of business. I barely had to hop behind the bar with a full guest facing bar and busy ticketing. Chelsea stuck around to help get one of the rushes going, and then stocked well enough that no one had to run for product for a full round, then we stocked after the 8 pm Batman and again at 9:30, which got us seamlessly through the rushes.

Jenna and Gabrielle were solid through sold out shows in lobby as well. There is a definite need for some support down there before big movies come in as guests need a lot of directing now that there isn't a door check in. Dwight is definitely getting more comfortable helping out. We should discuss how to further expand his role. JM

FOH Staff Observations: Same as last weekend, servers and runners have been absolutely excellent about running trays to and from service bar. A lot of servers really stepping up to offer their help during rushes when they have the time, regardless of theater or floor assignment. JH

Nothing but more of the same with regard to drink running during the dinner and late round. 4&6 got backed up with close shows but only for two or so trays, and Jason helped them through. JM

Special Events? The Grease sing-a-long screening in Th3 brought a welcome service pop to Lobby Bar during the first round. JH

Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Some dates are not getting changed on the juices and the machine cocktails. JM

86ed / counts on items: 86’d Evil Twin Biscotti Stout, Cutwater Horchata, Cardinal Bourbon Cream Soda, and Ancho Reyes. JH

86'd Zero Gravity around 10 pm JM

Prep List: Jo made Fire Walk With Me, The Iceberg, and Winter Daiquiri. I made Arbol Tequila, Lemonade, and a Paloma keg (which is charged and ready for service). JH

Made another 4 Iceberg as it is flying. Will need Firewalk and Lemonade at some point tomorrow, and maybe Toddy but it is slow to sell right now. JM
