Benjamin Monday 2.17

Manager Communication:
Busy for the kids first round, steady through the day, good night time sales.  Nothing late night.  I was able to cut to 1 up 1 down for the last round, and Susan had plenty of time to clean (see maintenance notes), and was closed very quickly after film bot was done.  The staffing was good for today.   I put notes in the holiday doc.

I looked back at some previous Holiday Mondays, and it looks like the 4 rounds starting at 11 might be more efficient scheduling.  I would love to talk about this tomorrow.

Customer Comments:
Right when I got here, we had a gentleman in the stall in the downstairs stall apparently changing.  He was also talking loudly on his phone and swearing.  As soon as he was out of the stall, Nick asked him to leave, and he left.  He then came back and was digging through the trash in the bathroom.  I told him he had to leave, and he said he thinks he threw out some cash and his metro card.  I told him that if we found it, we would give it to him, but he had to leave.  He argued with me for a second and then left.  I then went into the bathroom and saw he left his bag.  I opened it to see what was in it, and he had attempted to steal a roll of our toilet paper (I checked the stall he was in and it was ours).  I took that out of his bag, and when he came back for his bag, I gave it to him and told him sternly he was never welcome here, and he had to leave.  He did not come back again.

BAR Staff Observations: We kept a steady shift with some overlap with stocking and mostly just 2 up 1 down spread throughout the day.  Having the upstairs mid helped us get through a solid dinner round with 3 and then I cut Ian after the dinner drink rush.

Lots of tired folks, but they all did great.

FOH Staff Observations: Solid all day.

Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Order of priorities.

86ed / counts on items: 86ed Pink Panther for the last round.

Maintenance: Around 8 PM Rachel called me over because the coke compressor for the downstairs bar had started smoking intensely.  Her and Susan responded quickly by fanning the smoke away from the smoke detector and opening the doors.  I unplugged everything on that circuit and shut off the breaker.  I then began to investigate, and there was no heat on the walls around the outlets.  It was confined to the compressor and or motor for compressor.  There was a distinct smell of burnt rubber, so I am pretty sure a burnt wire casing inside the motor.  Susan said it started making a real weird noise just before it started smoking. Because we were mostly through the dinner rush, we decided to just route upstairs as most of the crowd was drinking one and ones, which would have to be made upstairs anyways.  Susan just did a really good clean while selling tickets til film bot closed.

I called Coke and put in a ticket.  They said they should be out tomorrow, but it could be up to 48 hours.  I put it in the maintenance calendar, and sent an email to Ian in case they come before I get here.
