Jesse Sunday 12.29

Manager Communication: A very busy shift from start to finish, early rounds were steady but not too busy but as the day went on ticket sales really ramped up. We had busy theates through the very last round, a really good Sunday schedule with Jumanji at 10:20 being the only film not to come close to selling out from the dinner round onwards.

Drink rushes were heavy but very concentrated with long lapses in between, which gave us plenty of time to stock and batch and get ready for the next rush. We had good front of bar business through 9:30 pm as well, which kept Caleb, Rebecca and William busy while Vanessa did a great job holding down lobby.

Customer Comments: This also made the FOH blog, but we had a guest in Th6 get glass in their soda pint. Caleb had broken a glass separating two pints over the service bar mats and it seems like some of that glass made its way into the unbroken pint, which got used or the ice well.

The oversight is in large part my fault. The nature in which the glass broke and where it broke seemed innocuous to me at the height of service and we painstakingly cleaned the mats, service bar top and replaced some garnishes nearby. It just did not occur to me that in the way it broke, it could have made it into the ice but I was wrong to not be thorough in having the bartenders clean every possible surrounding opportunity for it to make its way into the drink.

The guest was unharmed, luckily, and very understanding. Kylie and I comped their check and greeted them outside the theatre and apologized again. I went downstairs with them, they talked about how much they liked the movie, and I gave them an additional $50 gift card and some passes, which they said were very much appreciated but unnecessary.

BAR Staff Observations: After the fall out from the glass, Kylie came by the service bar and asked Caleb who had left a rack of water glasses incorrectly at service bar. Caleb responded "Why so you can narc on someone?" as a very, very poorly phrased joke because she brought the glass to MOD attention. Kylie took offense and I spoke to Caleb and let him know, especially in a situation in which Kylie was just doing her job and then also trying to help the bar manage its glassware, it was a bad thing to say and poor judgement to say it. He felt pretty bad right away when he saw Kylie got upset and apologized.

FOH Staff Observations: Incredibly prompt drink running tonight, Th1 got a little backed up and I pulled a dedicated runner but otherwise, drinks and trays went promptly.
