Sunday NSF Closing Night 4/12/2026 Ian/Jenn



Manager Communication:
Arrived a little early and got Matthew and Duan linked up for day 2 of Duan's training. Wyatt and I got building opened up - Wyatt got theaters prepared for No Budge so there wouldn't be any confusion. 

Busy Trees Lounge all evening, and plenty of very sold screenings throughout the building until about ten or so. JH

BAR Staff Observations:
Knibbs is getting the best education possible in the lobby today from our startender Matthew Soler. Going to have him focus on Filmbot and MobileBytes, and hopefully start to get his bearings with how to direct guests to their theaters. - IP

Charlie was pretty self sufficient down in lobby this evening, so I was really able to dedicate my attention to Trees, both with Danny and the NSF event.  I got Danny out of here once the initial wave of guests for the after party were served, and Darius stayed all the way through the event and gave Jeshua a headstart on resetting the floor before he left a little after eleven.  Jeshua is an absolute closing machine, and knocked out money and cleaning the bar in no time at all. FOH Staff Observations:
Servers were on top of it today. Michael doing the server trail w/ Danny. - IP

Hiring/Training:
Matthew training Duan on Filmbot and lobby directions. Tevon was supposed to train Danny for day 4, but is out sick - so I have Darius coming in at 1p to work that shift. Darius is tantamount to a lead, and I trust that his years of Nitehawk experience will be a real benefit to Danny's training. Coordinating a server trail for Danny with Wyatt.

Danny did his server trail with Michael during the greet for the 3:30p The Drama in Th. 2. I checked in with James and Wyatt and told Michael about the trail two hours before, so he had plenty of lead-up time to prepare. We chatted about the important details to go over - he is an A+ server, so I know Danny is in good hands.

Matthew got Knibbs trained up on Filmbot - did a little sit down with him afterwards - said he feels very confident about picking up all the odds and ends, as it is similar to another service job he works), and Matthew concurred. Had Matthew fill out the training binder. -IP

Danny is absolutely ready to go live.  It's really just a matter of repetition when it comes to the POS and cocktails now.  He took point at the service pass during the NSF Closing Nite screening, and did really well with balancing precision and speed.  Afterwards, he took lead on making a restock list and getting the product for Trees.  Great addition to the team.

Sali (new server, D3 training) was able to shadow me at the pass during that same service push, and we went over a lot of bar and Trees Lounge specifics.  She was very engaged and has really had a great attitude every time I've interacted with her since D1. JH

Sick Leave/ Call outs:
Tevon texted me around 10a saying he was experiencing chest pains and was going to get it checked out as a precaution. I marked him as sick on 7Shifts and moved Darius' in-time up to 1p. Went through the Day 4 training document with Darius and Danny to make sure they hit the areas of importance. - IP 

Special Events?
No Budge Brunch & NSF Closing Nite

NSF Closing Nite was definitely a thirstier crowd than the Opening Nite, as they drank as much in one hour as the Opening Nite did over two.  I was able to pop back and make a quarter batch of each special, and that got us through the end of the party.  Water Sports was definitely the winner, as we sold through all of it.  We still have a bit of Leaf Peeper, which can either go to Mystery or Trivia.  

When doing the check, I accidentally did it under my number, so I put the gratuity on a blank line on the Tip Sheet.  JH

Prep List:
Had to make more Firewalk, Iced Tea, Lemonade, O-Ren, and Hail Mary Special. Probably more later. - IP

Made FroCo (x4), Lemonade (x4), + O-Ren Lychee-I (x1).  We will need to make a bunch of cocktail kegs tomorrow: Color of Pomegranates, Negroni, Old Fashioned, + Princess Peach.  I cleaned the kegs and they are all chilling in the walk in.  JH

Manager Communication : Similar to yesterday, second round Top Gun and Everything Everywhere screenings sold really well.  Had a couple more people on Patio today, even with the rainy weather, and Trivia brought a sizeable crowd to Trees. BAR Staff Observations : Eliel held down Lobby solo all day, and did a fantastic job, which was a huge help as Trees was taken over by Trivia this evening.  Ian and Eliel both did a great job stocking and opening each bar, which set both floors up for success during service.   Tevon and Andrea (completing her last day of training!), together with Ian, navigated a very busy dinner round and Trivia crowd.  Tevon took the floor, and Ian and Andrea moved from service to guest-facing, no issue.  Andrea took the lead on second round service bar. and did two restocks, so she is now well acquainted with the liquor room and walk in. Jesse Sunday 1.5

Manager Communication:  Holiday level business keeps coming, we had a very busy day overall at the bar. Movies kept service bar going strong through 9 pm and then the bar stayed crowded with a group of people watching the Golden Globes. No issues with getting overly busy, however, as the push to service bar died right as the awards show started and a crowd grew at the bar. We were able to get all duties done tonight; batching, cleaning projects and strong service. The 4 pm rush was very heavy in particular, with Theatres 1, 4 and 6 very tightly seated but we never ran overlong on timing. Customer Comments:  We had a guest come to the bar around 4:30 to complain about some late food, which was dropped by a manager. Julie had a flag that she forget to ring until right before check drop and the guests complained about the wait, but were happy with our resolution of some passes and goodwill discounts on the check. Saturday 11.22.25 Wicked Day 3 Jenn/Lauren

Manager Communication:  Th1/2/3 were pretty much sold out for the day, with Wicked doing really well and Bugonia / Frankenstein taking up the smaller theaters.  Definitely a lot more kids coming through for Wicked this time, just as a heads up.  Sentimental Value is also selling out the smaller theaters, too.  Trees also had a group of runners (probably between 10-12 folks) hang out for drinks and brunch post-run.  A couple of more groups came through throughout the day and kept Trees happily busy during the early rounds. JH If we can change the temp on Trees lounge to 70 for this busy stretch, it gets really hot back there when they don't stop moving. -LB Wowie. everyone busting their butts today and I blame L. Frank Baum.  If we didn't switch to the plastic soda cups, we would have drowned today. Made it optimal. I think we need more empty grey racks, they were thin in circulation for the last round.
