Manager Communication:

Came in and cleaned all beverage machinery at both bars, put away the massive soda/juice order from US Foods, and received and organized large beer order from Union. Lauren isn't feeling well today, so Rebecca helped me out by getting the banks and cue sheets ready for the bars. Then dealt with a little scheduling snafu because Jeshua was unable to come into work today - Tevon put on his superhero cape and said he'd swing a long lobby shift. THEN got the building opened up. Phew, busy morning! - IP

Trees definitely was bopping throughout the evening, and cleared out after the folks from the X/1999 screening had their last sips a little after eleven. JH

Customer Comments: 

There was a guest at Trees Lounge around 3:30pm that ordered a virgin root beer float and paid with a gift card.  The ticket is J9.  They came back around 8:00pm and showed me on their phone that the pending charge from Nitehawk was $14.38, instead of the $11.98 that their ticket on MB reflected.  I reprinted their check and said that I would leave this note in the nightly blog and to give their bank a call and get back to us if they bank could not resolve it.  I was pretty clear on the point that we had not added any sort of gratuity to her check (she said she tipped in cash) and she seemed okay with my explanation,  She may follow up tomorrow, I have a copy of the check in my mailbox. BAR Staff Observations:

Tevon was so good with the guests in Lobby today. Very patient and helpful. Great to see, especially on a day where we asked him to pull a long lobby=

Tevon is indeed a gem, and held down Lobby without issue.  Matthew got some batching done and made sure that Fran was ready for the last bit of service before clocking out.  Tevon also checked in with Fran after closing Lobby, and said that Fran and Trees seemed to be in good shape for pre-close.  

Service-wise, Fran is really focused on bar guests, which he got plenty of practice with tonight as small groups were coming through Trees all night.  When alone behind the bar he does need to work on making sure to keep an eye on theater tickets, but nothing detrimental to service.  Something that will come with practice, especially as he learns to balance bar guests while keeping an eye on the service pass.  Overall, he is very proactive behind the bar and is always doing something during any lulls in service, and he is also very upfront with any questions he may have which is definitely making the settling in process easier. JH

Maintenance: 

It is still making ice, but man oh man the heat coming off of the Trees ice machine is something else.  Fans were on and working, but some of those itty bitty pipes get hot. JH
