Manager Communication: The Batman continued to perform strongly, and brought in plenty of extra guests for a Monday. Otherwise, it was a fairly easygoing day.

The third round Batman screenings and Total Recall brought in a nice crowd to Trees from about 7:00 until 9:00. A couple of people lingered, but cleared out by the time theaters did last call.

Customer Comments: Ashley and a guest had a negative interaction during the first round today. Gerard mentioned it in his blog, as he had direct communication with the guest after Ashley called for a manager. I spoke with Ashley once the guest went into her screening after speaking to Gerard, to get Ashley’s perspective on what happened.

Ashley said the guest and her child entered the building and came up to the bar. The child was wearing a mask, the woman was not, so Ashley asked her if she had one to put on. The woman responded with foul language asking why she should, and Ashley explained our mask policy. The woman then called her a bitch, so Ashley called for a manager and Gerard was the first to respond.

When the woman spoke to Gerard she was adamant that she had been nothing but cordial to Ashley, and did not say that she had cursed at her. When I relayed this information to Gerard, and he spoke to Ashley, he advised her to no longer prompt guests about masks and that it would probably be easier to have the conversation once guests were seated in theaters. There were no further incidents for the rest of the night.

Honestly, before this interaction, I noticed several guests become combative with Ashley when she asked for them to wear a mask until seated, even when she did so while offering them a mask. Without someone stationed at the door, it naturally fell on Ashley at Lobby Bar, as most guests’ first staff member interaction, to explain our mask policy.

Signage at both doors (something larger like an a-frame) would be a great deal of help in educating guests about our mask policy without needing direct staff intervention every time.

BAR Staff Observations: Eliel was great opening Trees, smoothly handling the first Batman showing in Th4 solo. Having Jenna come in a little earlier than normal for a weekday Trees closer was super helpful dealing with the second round screenings.

Both were fantastic assisting guests and working service bar, and switched off point several times. High ticket sales, but no completely sold out shows kept the vibes pretty mellow. Eliel stuck around through the last Batman seating, and was able to get out of here shortly after.

Ashley held it down solo in Lobby Bar, and was great. Total Recall was a fun screening, and she kept up with the pop no problem.

Special Events? Total Recall in Th3 was a fun, chill crowd. Brought a nice third round pop to Lobby Bar.

Staff Meeting Agenda notes: As mentioned above, some larger signage explaining our mask policy, posted at both doors, would be a huge help in communicating what we expect from guests without having to have an employee interject every time.

86ed / counts on items: There is a count on Biscotti Stout and Cutwater Horchata Cold Brew.  All in-house lines and lemons are behind both bars.

Prep List: Eliel made Fire Walk With Me and one batch of The Iceberg (he remembered that we had some extra Mr. Black stocked with our Spoons bus tub in the walk-in).

Blood Simple and The Iceberg will need to be made when we receive Four Roses and Mr. Black, respectively.

Pay Outs: $20 for face masks.

Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Casamara arrived, and is in the walk-in. Coca Cola delivery also came in, and I brought it to the soda closet.

Mobilebytes Issues: The Mobilebytes iPad at Lobby Bar was left unplugged overnight, so it was dead when Ashley arrived. Eliel noted that the charger was a little loose, so just something to keep an eye on when doing end of night Lobby Bar walkthroughs.
