Benjamin 3/10 Brunch

Manager Communication:
Sold high on Captain Marvel from the 10:30 onward.  Good sales in the whole building.  Spring is here.  We ran solid with Ash downstairs solo and 2 up from 12 to 3.  Michael was feeling under the weather, so I sent him home as soon as the mid got in.  If he had stayed, we would have been able to knock out batching early, so right crew size.  But because he left, batching had to wait for the closers to get here.

There were very few rollups left for the openers.  This should be a point of emphasis now that we are getting busy.  The second to last out needs to get us very stocked every day.

Projectionist was late today and the movies were not on auto start because the time change.  We noticed in time for Rachel to contact Dylan P and figure out how to get everything started manually.  We missed some preshows, but everything started within 5 minutes of when it was supposed to.  Gerard and I ran around the building being Rachel's eyes and ears.  Rachel was WOWOWOWOWOW!.  Not enough good things to say about her today.

Tight turns in 1 today with long turns in 2 for sold out shows.

Jay was 30 minutes late.  He texted me well ahead of time, but it was just because he did a run and was in Harlem, so I gave him a verbal warning and put a note in his file.  I let him know that he had his shift and knew the start time.

Customer Comments:
Had one customer be angry that our website didn't tell her we were low on tickets when she tried to buy one for her and a separate transaction for her kid because it would not allow her to buy one for her and her kid at the same time (there was only one ticket left).  When I exchanged her ticket, I showed her that the website does say "1 ticket left" and she said it should be more clear...

BAR Staff Observations:
Ash crushed downstairs solo all day.  Michael was a bit behind for setup, but told me he wasn't feeling well, and he was set up great by the time people started streaming in.  I cut him as soon as I could.

Despite Jay being late, he crushed it on service and running around.  Him and Malka took service for the 3's and 4's and crushed it, while changing kegs, and making sure everything was good.

I had to remind a few times early that when a long line is sat and before the theater starts putting in tickets is the perfect time to bus tables, check upstairs, and reset, but I didn't have to say it for the 3's which means it is being taken to heart.

Once the second drink runner was on for the 3's and 4's, I had one post in the big theater with the drink rush and run to seats while the other rand the trays to the theaters.

FOH Staff Observations:
Good teamwork.  I was too busy to observe much.

Hiring/Training:

Sick Leave/ Call outs:
Jay was 30 minutes late.  Sent Michael home as early as possible.  Chris posted his shift on Schedulefly and Grace picked it up.

Special Events?

Staff Meeting Agenda notes:  We need to clarify getting shifts covered.  We do not want sick people to feel obligated to come in even if noone picks it up, and if it is day of for other reasons, we want them to feel like they need to do more than just put their shift up.  This will be part of this weeks email.
