Monday NO BUDGE 5/18/2026 Ian

Manager Communication:
Aside from No Budge the day was ruled by the beautiful weather. We had Gab scheduled to come in for a batch shift and to help with No Budge, but I made the call that we didn't need her to come in. Greg was game to handle the first crush of the No Budge after-party and I was able to shore up the walk-in. Gab was thrilled to have the night off - everybody wins! - IP

The softballers and a book club rounded out the evening at Trees, and we ended up having a packed house from around 8-11. Was a nice little pop for an otherwise sleepy Monday. Greg, Lydia and Patrick did great. - IP

BAR Staff Observations:
***TREES LOUNGE NEEDS NEW BAR MATS*** The ones we have are so sticky it has become a hazard. Can we order those tomorrow? The time has come. - IP

Greg and Lydia rocked the No Budge after party which was very crowded and loud, but ultimately very tame - and once the first round of drinks had been dispersed, it chilled out considerably. Greg grabbed Lydia a restock and got out of here just after 10p. Patrick had a very relaxed evening in the lobby and was done by 11p. Glad I made the call to cut Gab - aside from Greg having to pull a slightly longer than usual shift, it would've been overkill to have another pair of hands behind the bar. - IP

FOH Staff Observations:
New server M is wonderful. Seems like they've been working here for ages. Glad to have them! - IP

Sick Leave/ Call outs:
Lauren is out. Feel better! Cut Gab's batch/No Budge shift. - IP

Special Events?
No Budge. Sold out theater - drink rush was very manageable. Greg and Lydia made a great team. After party was a quick hit and then chill. Def didn't need Gab. - IP

Staff Meeting Agenda notes:
Want to chat during our bar manager meeting about staying focused behind the bar and keeping your head on a swivel - some of our bar staff are incredible at this - others, I find myself CONSTANTLY having to say, "hey guys, can you help that guest at the middle of the bar please?" because their attention is focused elsewhere. - IP

Prep List:
I made a ton of the staples. We should be groovy until the next batch shift (I will also be here all week to make sure everything is good to go). - IP

Had an iced irish coffee run end of night - going to want to make some backup White Choco Whipped Cream for the walk-in first thing tomorrow, along with getting some more Arbol Tequila steeped. There is plenty of FWWM at bars and in walk-in, just didn't have a chance to get more Arbol made. - IP

Ordering/Receiving/Shipping:
We received the replacement box of Pilsner glasses, and alas, two of the glasses didn't make the journey. I have the box in the liquor room flagged - Lauren, let me know how you would like to proceed - if we wanna see if the third time's the charm? - IP

Several servers have noted that it would be helpful to have another decaffeinated tea option - chamomile or lemon zinger or something - even just a decaf regular black tea. It apparently is requested very frequently and lots of people would rather not have peppermint. Something to consider. - IP

Maintenance:
The tap handle/spout attachment for the Princess Peach on the tower nearest the service pass at Trees is leaking something fierce. I tightened everything that I could figure out how to tighten, and threw some plumber's tape around the leaky joint for good measure. That has fixed the problem, but we should take a proper look when we have time tomorrow or wednesday. - IP
