Manager Communication: Another busy day here. All big theater were either sold out or well sold. Barbie continues to dominate whatever theater it's in and it looks like it'll keep that momentum straight into the weekend. All hail Barbenheimer. EA
Customer Comments: Had a person come in to Trees at last call and try to order a couple shots according to Maya. The woman couldn't produce an ID when Maya carded her and then proceeded to give a bit of a pushback. Ultimately she ordered a Coco Lime Slushie and THEN tried to pay with a counterfeit $50 dollar bill. Maya clocked this and quickly called an MOD for a counterfeit pen (she did this to stall) I came up to the bar to check the bill with her and sure enough it was counterfeit. The bill was the wrong size and the markings were jet black (Do we keep counterfeit bills? I handed it back to her and said we couldn't accept it.)
Eventually this woman produces a real $10 dollar bill to pay for the drink, so not knowing whether she legitimately tried to scam the bar (she was.), or whether she was the victim, the payment was taken and she went to sit by the projector screen deep into last call. 5 minutes before close she came back to the bar to demand a refund despite having well over 30 minutes to say something about the drink (She "didn't like it"). Maya had already done her check out at this point and the person then demanded a to go cup. I went to get her one and then when I came back I saw her shifting some of it into another plastic cup she already had and fill the rest of the water cup with water.
It definitely looked like she was going to toss it at the bar for not being able to get a refund past closing. She lives the water cup with the slushie water mixture on the bar top, refuses to take the togo cup I offered and left.
I come downstairs to drop the gate as it was 12:50ish and she was the only person in the building and was acting real sketchy about the entire encounter and I come to find that there was a plastic to go cup with a white slushie mixture thrown at the lobby couch and spilled all over. Who's to say if it was her or not, but we should take this opportunity to remind all staff to consistently check for counterfeit bills.
I also did speak to Maya about doing her cash reports when guests are still in the building and how it could become a potentially dangerous situation. In any case, if she does come in again, I will be instructing staff to not serve her based on this overall sketchy and hostile interaction. EA
BAR Staff Observations: Staffing was tight today, but everyone held it together and got through multiple sold out showings on all floors. Everyone rallied to help Ian today as he was moving a little slower than usual while working on modified duty. Miguel stepped up and ran the lobby, but was also very communicative if he needed to take a break or restock. We did make it through the last service push and the openers were out soon after making sure Maya was set for the night.
Staff Meeting Agenda notes: Alicia let me know that Mike wasn't the best trainer, and that in fact he showed her very little of what to do when training her. She deep cleaned the bar prep area including the liquor storage and the walk in and did a phenomenal job after it was clarified what she should be looking for.
86ed / counts on items: Michelada/Tecate EA
Prep List: Neon Demon, Simple, and Fistful of Dollars it seems. I'll get that going in the first half of the shift tomorrow.
Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Placed an order for more sour cherries for The Manhattan Project so we have enough for this weekend. EA

She is always willing to help and get projects done, but just needs clarifications at times. If she is coming on full time, we should definitely get her on a day with Vlad if we haven't so he can point out what she should be looking for. EA
