Manager Communication: If it could be communicated to the porter team again that they stack the glasses a bit too high at the end of the night. I am 5'10 and I dropped a rack on my face pulling them down to bring them to Natasha. Again with all of my klutzes, I am fine, but it is just dubious to stack heavy glassware this high. Most people are not above 6 feet.-LB
Hearing a lot of calls to kitchen for staff food, I thought this was not appreciated by the kitchen?-LB
I left the flyers that I got for Film Feast, on top of the box with the outfits for the servers. -LB
The rubber stoppers for the rolling glassware holders are in the kitchen, there were like a dozen under the trees dish pit if you can let servers/runners know if they need one for their rack they are in the kitchen, I noticed them trying other things to plug the holes. -LB
Broke out a case of pilsner glasses and pint glasses. -LB
We have a lot of water for events in the liquor room already. 5 cases came in, are we using them this week? Just need to know how to store them.-LB
And speaking of storage...now that the shelf from 4/6 is by MOD, could we possible store the stack of covered white mugs up there? They had been in the kitchen but our liquor room is very crowded with the soda shelf, the mugs, and all the boxes of product. If it is okay, I can bring it up there tomorrow.-LB
Bars have flashlights and I mounted hooks for both of them so they should not get lost.-LB
It may be time to consider having branded-disposable cups for sodas. We don't have to use them all the time, but for some weekends, we do not have enough pints. The logistics of the glassware getting back to us, clean, and not hot is difficult. -LB
Regarding the smell at Trees dishpit, it might be because the drain under the dish pit seems slow to drain. Might be backed up or something could be clogging it.-LB
I'll let Ian go into the Trees Mezz sitch:
Ian here - So there was yet again a group of 8-10 teenagers who went up to the mezzanine around 4:30ish, unattended by any adults. I went up shortly after they arrived to make sure they weren't trying to sneak outside food or drink because they didn't get anything at the bar (as groups like this rarely, if ever, do). They seemed to be quietly chilling on the mezz, taking turns playing the arcade games. I noticed that there was a foul smell emanating from the kids playing the games - but just thought it was unwashed teenage boy smell, as they had clearly been hanging out in the park beforehand. No big deal. Then I hear on the walkie that a guest in Trees complained about what smelled like "sewage" coming from the mezzanine. Dwight quickly discovered that the aforementioned teens had brought in a can of "fart spray" and had been releasing it throughout Trees the whole time they were there. Dwight kicked them out, but the absolutely abhorrent smell lingered in Trees for almost an hour after they left.
All this to say - I took the initiative to post a sign at the foot of the stairs that says that "No guests under 21 are permitted on the mezzanine without parent or guardian." I stand firmly by this. large groups of teens often congregate on the mezz before 7p, and even when they are not causing problems (which they almost always are), they certainly aren't spending any money (or at least nowhere near enough to offset the impediments it causes service when an MOD or Bar MOD or Security has to stop what they're doing to check on, reprimand or kick out people who are essentially loitering). I think it's totally reasonable to restrict a relatively secluded space such as the mezzanine in what is, at the end of the day, a bar, to guests over 21 or kids with their parents - this is specifically to mitigate the throngs of unattended middle and highschoolers who frequent Trees. - IP
Customer Comments:
A young man asked me if I could get a booster seat for his party. He said, "it's for my grandma - she's like, 4'11" " - I walked back to the theater with him and grabbed a booster for his Grammy, and the smile and gratitude this woman and the rest of her party had when she could see over the person in front of her was just delightful. They were effusively thankful afterwards and had a great time. Just wanted to share a lovely interaction I had today - a nice change of pace! - IP

BAR Staff Observations:
There was a little confusion regarding the well assignments tonight, but it didn't hinder service at all. Patrick expressed that he was "confused by the verbiage" on the sign. He thought that "Trees" meant the service well.... not sure what he deduced "Service" meant, but all good - I let it fly because the team was already in the pocket, and I figured that disrupting the flow mid-rush would only slow things down. Going forward, I will be more on top of adhering to the chosen well assignments in the future. Greg and Lydia were great closers tonight - and Jeshua was excellent in the lobby as always. - IP
FOH Staff Observations:
FOH Staff Observations:
Definitely a busy night, and glassware circulation was an issue - I helped out with a theater 1 flip, because we were in the hole with glassware leading into a sold out Th2, and the amount of glassware was astonishing - there was absolutely no way, even with a sold out theater 1 and people drinking relatively heavily that there should have been that much dirty glassware sitting in the theater until the credits finished rolling. The "pre-bussing" is not happening and with tight flips and sell-outs, it really needs to be prioritized to ensure service can run smoothly without feeling like we are constantly bailing out the boat. - IP
Hiring/Training:
So we lost Elaine. We WILL find another bartender and they WILL want to work here. -LB

Prep List: Had Matthew do 3 FWWM, 4 Lemonades, Margarita keg, double Smoke.-LB
Natasha made an Angel Eyes, and OF Keg. I deep cleaned the keg before batching. Thanks for doing that for the marg keg Ariel.-LB
I prepped some stuff for Film Feast.-LB
I started a SMOKE before I checked for Peychaud's - so there is a double batch in the walk-in noted that it still needs Peychaud's. I also got more Bloody Mix prepped and another Iced Tea batch. Should be good to go for tomorrow morning - the dry-erase board has a small list - possibly Into the Void, possibly Back in the Jungle and finishing the SMOKE batch. - IP

Maintenance: I vacuumed the ice machine's insides in lobby bar. It is quite dusty. I think pulling it out and vacuuming behind would give it some more life.-LB

I also opened up and checked inside the Trees machine to make sure the repair was working. It is in fact no longer spewing gas, it is taking time to build up ice but not unusually slow or anything. -LB
The hot water spigot got stuck open so there might be what looks like a leak behind the coffee station at Trees tomorrow morning - it is not a leak, it is just water I couldn't get fully mopped up.
I had Greg and Lydia do a little sweep under the dri-decks and wells at the end of the night to make sure we're keeping things tidy. - IP
Mobilebytes Issues:
We have separate buttons for adding extra patties to items - but would it be possible to add the modifier button into the Impossible/Smash Burgers and Chx Sandwich complete with upcharge? Just a thought. - IP
