Manager Communication: I had some plastic in the bottom of my coffee this morning. I also ordered a coffee carafe too tall for our machine by a hair. I will work on a return from Webstaurant. LB
The internet seems really slow this morning. -LB
Gil I submitted an order with first aid supplies for bar prep, I think the last time I did this I used the wrong code. Really need one back here. And another coffee thermos. Thanks.-LB

I need to schedule a meeting with Edgar (or anyone who is familiar with the bubbler mechanics!) for him to walk me through internal Bubbler de/reconstruction so I can properly troubleshoot when we have issues like we had tonight (see below in maintenance). Just so in the event I need to take one apart and Frankenstein any of the parts we have in storage, I'm ready to rock. I am also happy to hop on YouTube and learn myself some stuff, but some guidance is always nice. - IP

Dani bought some new solid plastic check presenters and maybe we can try them out at Trees? They might be more durable and easier to clean? I left them on the lowboy in bar prep for y'all to inspect - see what ya think. - IP

Customer Comments: See below interaction [in FOH Staff Obs]. I do think it could be useful to mention the low sight lines of the last two rows in Theater 7. I had a few adults complain that they couldn't see the screen a few weeks ago. -LB

A guest in Trees asked to speak with a mgr, and wanted to know if he could "just go into a theater [more than 35 mins late] and grab an empty seat." I asked if he had a ticket, he said no and that the bartender told him he couldn't purchase a ticket for the film he wanted to see (it was nearly 40 mins in at that point). I reiterated our policy, and suggested buying a ticket to a different film. He was incredulous, said, "I think you can make an exception, right? There are plenty of seats." I politely informed him that no, we could not, but he was welcome to buy tickets to another film. He said he understood, and then immediately found Dani, and tried his luck again - same result. He was not rude, just, for lack of a better term, entitled - and seemed to understand our policy, but was cynically dismissive of it. He didn't cause any issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if there might be a smug email regarding our ticketing cut-off policy. - IP

Around 10:15, I watched as two clearly under-21 guests stopped, read the signage at the staircase, and decided to ignore it completely, and head up the stairs. I caught up with them, and asked if they were over 21. They muttered yes without stopping or acknowledging me, so I said, great! Can I just check your ID's real quick? To which they both froze, paused and then said "... I have a picture of my ID on my phone?" I explained our policy and that I would need to see a physical ID. When they could not provide anything, I told them this is our policy and that there were no exceptions. They were quite petulant and rude thereafter, but paid their bill, drank their apple juice (yes, literally apple juice - CLEARLY 21!), ate their burgers and left without further attitude. Again, just noting this in case they (or their parents) decide to email about it. - IP

BAR Staff Observations:  Natasha and Tevon are who you want when everything is busy. Solid wonderful  bartenders and people. Natasha was a little late due to traffic but she did let me know. Wyatt and I floated the idea of the weekend bartenders having 30 extra minutes because it is a lot to prep for brunch. Or have a swing come in to help them. It is a lot with me running around filling in the gaps. Obviously today may be an outlier but Lobby bar especially is taxed because they have to do customer service right away and don't have as much time to set up glassware etc. -LB

Patrick and Darius were excellent in the lobby tonight - and then I swung Patrick up to Trees for the sold out 7:15 Nosferatu, where he, Brian and Jeshua made the insane drink rush look easy. The last round of the evening was much more low-key than it has been for quite some time. Trees stayed quite busy most of the night, despite the end of the holiday week. I think the sandwich board outside is really paying dividends already - nice one, Lauren! - IP

FOH Staff Observations: A family in Theater 7 with two small kids felt "duped" because the kids couldn't see the screen. I brought them two black booster seats. Servers should know this resource, albeit Matthew was pretty swamped. I comped them a popcorn and had to comp a smashburger because they verbalized 2 but only wrote one. This loophole needs to be closed. Matthew is such a hard worker and always so sweet when he asks for help.
Shout out to Anthony who put bags in bar preps bins when I was busy batching right away. He rocks. I didn't even ask him to.-LB

Shoutout to Jose for assisting with the 7:15 Nosferatu Th 1 drink rush while simultaneously crushing service in a sold out Complete Unknown in th 2. The service station was slammed with drink running, and Jose got in there and took control, staying calm and jovial as always. He's a really great presence to have

Special Events? Heat rental.

Staff Meeting Agenda notes: I have consistently noticed that Security Guard Nick is CONSTANTLY on his phone. In those instances, he at least has been stationed somewhere in Trees or in the Lobby (albeit, distracted). This evening, Trees got a very large pop after the 7:15 Nosferatu let out.  At this point I figured Nick would find his way to Trees, but I found him lounging in the Lobby banquette chatting with a friend. I asked if he was on break, he said no, so I asked if he could keep an eye on the large crowd at Trees. It's one thing to be perusing your phone, but to be hanging out with your buddy while you're supposed to be providing security for the building? It's extremely frustrating. I don't wanna come down too hard, but it has consistently been happening and it needs to stop. - IP

I know we have mentioned something to get eyes on the mezzanine - mirrors? - perhaps it would be possible to add a camera up there? I think I can speak for the whole bar team when I say we all try to get up there as much as possible, but when drink rushes are lasting so long, sometimes it's hard to get away to scope it out with as much frequency as we would like - and the influx of youths monopolizing the mezzanine/pool table is definitely something we want to make as easy as possible to navigate/prevent. - IP

86ed / counts on items: Oh jeez.  Peppermint Tea, Gansett, Jack's Pilsner

86'd Al's, 86'd Ommegang
Low on Elphaba - about 2 qts left behind the bars. Not on a count yet. - IP

Prep List: I started the day with PST, Bloody concentrate, Positively 4th street and arbol tequila (unloaded three rando blanco tequilas in there). 1 Lemonade, 2 FWWM.

I strained the cacao water, and whenever we get Empirical back, we can make more Spirit of Comfort. We're almost out of all the Elphaba in the house (right on time!), but still have some Tarragon Gin and can make more piecemeal whenever we get St. Germain back. We're down to our last cocktail kegs in the walk-in, so they'll have to be backed up soon (and nail down when we're re-kegging the Old Fashioned and what we're doing with the G&T).
Will need to batch more lemonade and cherry lime tomorrow. - IP

Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Baldor and US Foods coming tomorrow. We might want more oat milk before STB but I didn't want to overwhelm walk-in.
Printed Fedex label and walked the carafe to the drop off which was closed.  It is on the table by MOD. Ariel if you feel like walking up there tomorrow, that is awesome otherwise I will drop it off Tuesday.-LB
I am ordering different olives from Baldor because the castelvetrano taste like nothing. -LB

Maintenance: we brought two boxes of pints to Trees. I  left one box in liquor room in case we didn't need all of them-LB

Lauren went to see Babygirl tonight in theater 3 and ordered a Peach Sweet Tea - and it had gone off. Just beginning to turn - kinda funky tasting like it had been sitting out. I checked the bubbler and the lemonade was fine but the PST was off. I suspect the bubbler's coolant isn't working well enough to keep the PST from turning (or the lemonade for that matter) - however we run through the lemonade so much faster that fresher product is always in the bubbler - whereas the tea is replenished less frequently. This is the first time I've encountered this problem and will investigate the bubblers further when I have my cleaning/maintenance on Wednesday - until then we may want to run with the peach tea in store'n'pours til we figure out what's going on with the bubblers. - IP
