Benjamin Thursday 3/12/20

Manager Communication: Slow night, but the music event brought out some drinkers.  Nothing in the rest of the building, with all conversation at the bar about Covid-19 Customer Comments: Good tippers appreciative that we were open for them. BAR Staff Observations: Definitely uncertainty, but good spirits considering. Special Events? Where Does A Body End.  About 80 showed up.  really nice crowd, good drinkers and tippers. Prep List: Ginger Syrup, maybe a few other things depending on what we think the weekend will look like.

Rebecca Wednesday 3.11

Manager Communication: Tevon earlier filled a guests personal water bottle and the soda gun nozzle was right up against the rim of the mouthpiece of the water gun. I sanitized it afterwards just in case, but we may want to be careful going forward about filling guest's personal water bottles. BAR Staff Observations: Crew was in great spirits tonight despite the fact that it was pretty slow. Everyone did a great job and kept morale high. Staff Meeting Agenda notes: We should watch out for abbreviating cocktails in the store 'n pours to avoid confusion, particularly when we have cocktails with similar titles/appearances. A Pink Panther almost got poured tonight instead of a Big Pink because the label said "Pink Pan" Prep List: Keep an eye on Big Pink. We didn't batch it tonight because it was so slow, but may need it tomorrow for the night/weekend.

Jesse Tuesday 3.10

Manager Communication:  A very busy night tonight with Rebecca, the screening and the party afterwards! A very slow first round/general theatre sales overall but then the dinner round with two screenings and the party afterwards kicked off and we were slammed through the rest of the night. Hopped back for a good chunk of the party to support and called Ian up to run as a barback, essentially. He grabbed glassware and back ups for us and batched when we needed more Pink Panther; worth keeping in mind for staffing in the future. It was a drinking crowd in a huge way, but we definitely should plan on having someone in a support role for events like this. Customer Comments:  Just a lot of happy, good guests at both bars tonight. BAR Staff Observations:  Ian was a huge help tonight, running support for us during the event. Hex, Ryan and Jeremy were seamless as well working the party. Really impressed. FOH Staff Observations:  FOH staff was good during the party; k...

Jesse Sunday 3.8

Manager Communication:  A very slow day. The bar party during the day was highly successful and great for the bar, but otherwise our showtimes were all very slow with low sales through the middle to late rounds. Kept staffing incredibly tight and did some maintenance and cleaning projects to fill the time. BAR Staff Observations:  All staff was great about being efficient in their sidework and then getting off of the clock when sales stalled. Special Events?  80th Birthday was great! Having the dedicated runner was a huge benefit to the way we ran it, having Adriana on walkie to call for food when needed and help bus and keep the area clean. Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Big Geyser Tuesday

Benjamin Monday 3/9/20

Manager Communication: Very slow night, thank you Deanna and NYCFC for saving an otherwise bleak night. Cut Susan as soon as bars were stocked and the event was underway.   Special Events? NYCFC event about 50 turned out for the event.  NYCFC covered 4000 to meet minimum.  Some of the crowd stayed at the bar afterwards. Staff Meeting Agenda notes: hopping out from behind the bar. Prep List: Susan prepped all 3 cocktails for tomorrow's event. Maintenance: Lock on bar closet on way to mezz is getting very bad.  Added to maintenance doc. Mobilebytes Issues: To begin the day, the credit card readers were disconnected.  Gil said something in the office had been unplugged.

Benjamin Saturday 3/8/20

Manager Communication: Video game machines are on free play.  Gordon came with his wife and kid and they watched Onward.  He will come back on Monday to turn them back on pay play. Steady day, low on the F&B with so many kids movies.  Bars were kept lean, with 3 only needed for the dinner push, and closed with 1.  Everything ran smoothly for solid business.  Wendy did not do anything. Customer Comments: Someone threw up on the stairs outside theater 2.  No one saw who did it, but as soon as I saw it, I called for a porter, and made sure no one stepped in it.  It was on the side and didn't get noticed by any guests. BAR Staff Observations: Fantastic crew on tonight. FOH Staff Observations: Fantastic as well. Prep List: Two Lane Black Top and Pink Panther, but good to start the day.

Benjamin Friday 3/6

Manager Communication: Very low numbers.  Cut fast and furiously, going to one up and one down at 9:30. Wendy is not doing much of anything. Customer Comments: There was a customer in Theater 1 for the dinner round with a Corona beer.  We were radioed immediately, and I confiscated the beer, and let the gentleman know he could order a beer.  He asked for a Hi Life.   During the same show, some customers complained about the folks talking next to them.  The folks next to them had a child around 8 years old.  At the end of the show, we reached out and offered the people who's movie was effected passes and explained that after 7 PM the shows would not have children.  They were understanding, tipped Stephen very well, and left happy. BAR Staff Observations: Rapid cuts, but everyone did great.  Can't wait for this coming week. FOH Staff Observations: Jason did a solid job running drinks and is very coachable.  Will need active manage...

Nick Thursday 3/5/20

Manager Communication: Spoons was the only game in town tonight. Everything was very smooth. I didn't keep Antonio around for the event, as ticket sales were not that high. We were just fine without him. Everything else was real quiet. I am glad we have new movies and events this week. Customer Comments: Someone messed up the womens bathroom on the first floor today. We had to close the bathroom for about 20 minutes while we got it all cleaned up. Special Events? Spoons!

Benjamin/Rebecca Wednesday 3/4

Manager Communication: Incredibly slow night tonight inside the theaters and at the bars as well. Pulled BOP Margarita from the binders. Nick, Coeur came to drop off a bottle of wine for you tonight. It is labeled and on the 2nd shelf of the walk-in right above the batched cocktails BAR Staff Observations: Adriana did an exceptional job closing lobby tonight. I know she doesn't close often, but her close was extremely thorough. Prep List: Pink Panther Backup Keg of SEOF Backup Keg of Negroni Ingredients for specials beginning this weekend (Recipes not in the books yet) Over/Short on Banks: 333 was $5 short at the end of the night Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Empire came today.  1 Broken case of Pinot Noir.  It is marked on the invoice. Maintenance: The 3rd floor bathroom has no hot water today.  I (Benjamin) adjusted all the undersink levers and valves, but nothing brought it back.  I added it to the critical section of the maintenance doc....

Jesse Tuesday 2.3

Manager Communication:  Theatre service very slow today, with a bare bones opening and late round and a minimal dinner round. Trivia was the busiest we've seen in a while, however, and gave us amazing bar energy from 7 pm onwards. Guests hung out through 11:30 pm. Customer Comments:  We had the most positive and high energy trivia in a while. It was excellent, with lots of first time teams. We seem to gain a few each week, we spilled over to the mezz tonight. BAR Staff Observations: Eliel was a rockstar serving trivia. Special Events?  Busiest trivia since December, really excellent sign for the continued success of the trivia seasons for getting us repeat clientele. Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Chef's Warehouse tomorrow, Coke Thursday

Benjamin Monday 3/2

Manager Communication: Slowest night in a long time.  Lots of staff came for Emma. and Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Mostly organized and prepped for tasting tomorrow.   Cut Hex as soon as Dylan was in. Last call right at midnight, as sales are real low. Customer Comments: There was a baby in the first round of Emma.  It was making noise and the parent did nothing to calm it.  As soon as it was brought to our attention, Rachel talked to the mother and she decided to leave.  After the show, one couple came up to me to say that it had gone on for 30 minutes, I gave them passes and explained to let us know quickly in the future so the show is more enjoyable.  They left happy. Special Events? Premature unfortunately did not do well. Prep List: Spicy tequila. Ordering/Receiving/Shipping: Gotham and Baldor came today.

Jesse Sunday 3.1

Manager Communication:  A very slow Sunday, with a decent push for dinner but very isolated flow of business to the early and mid rounds today. Lots of family friendly programming tends to concentrate business to the daytime, especially on a Sunday so we saw that tonight. Got cleaning and batching done early and made very tight labor cuts for dinner, going down to 2 up and 1 down by 7:30 pm and then 1 up and 1 down by 10:30 pm. BAR Staff Observations:  Rebecca cleaned bubblers and got some final batching done and then bounced, everyone else was on point and cuts were easy as closing work got done intelligently. FOH Staff Observations:  Communication for runners was consistent done throughout mainly because we were slow and trying to keep it tight. Prep List:  Two Lane keg at some point, not dire. Ordering/Receiving/Shipping:  Baldor tomorrow, chef's Tuesday, Coke tomorrow.
